When we see it, we have to call it what it is plainly: blocking the right to vote. Millions of Americans have already voted and more will vote between now and next Tuesday. That right is absolutely sacred.

Vermont’s EMS providers show up for our communities every day. But too often, they can’t get reimbursed by Medicare for the care they provide on scene. My EMS ROCS Act would change that. Our first responders show up for us. It’s time we showed up for them, too.

Sorry, everyone — this post is going to be a little cheesy🧀    I loved visiting Jasper Hill Farm in Greensboro to see how they make their incredible cheese and to hear directly from them about the challenges they're facing, including tariffs and other rising costs.

Our community health centers provide an essential service to our communities – providing care to Vermonters in every corner of the state.   Today, I convened a roundtable in Hardwick to hear directly from folks on the ground and make sure I’m doing all I can to fight for them in DC.

Americans have lost trust in elected officials in both parties, and frankly, I understand why. We need to earn that trust back. Banning stock trading by members of Congress is a commonsense place to start.

It’s really important that we listen to the next generation and make sure they feel seen and heard by those of us in office. My thanks to UVM SGA and every student who came to our town hall on campus for sharing your time, your perspectives, and your thoughtful questions!

No person or corporation should be above the law. And when Meta is found to have violated a state law 43 million times, they must be made to pay the consequences.   This is unfortunately welcome news.

nytimes.comMeta Ordered to Pay $25 Billion for Deceiving Users on PrivacyThe penalty, one of the largest levied against the tech giant, stemmed from a lawsuit by New Mexico claiming the social media company had misled users about their data privacy.

Nothing will stop me from defending LGBTQ+ folks in Vermont and across the country, or from working to combat this administration’s discrimination against us.   I’m proud of this perfect score from @hrc.org and look forward to keeping up the fight in the years to come.

This is a violation of international law and absolutely unacceptable. I’m grateful Brad has been released but he never should have been detained in the first place. Others remain in custody - all for the crime of accompanying farmers during the olive harvest - and they must be released immediately.

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

Let’s talk about Alina Habba’s pay to play pardon scheme. This abuse of the pardon power is, of course, outrageous. We are absolutely looking at any way to rein stuff like this in, no matter how difficult it is. No president of any party should be able to do this.

I’m disgusted by what Trump is doing to Ukraine right now. It threatens the safety of all of Europe and ours as well, to be aligned with a brutal dictator like Putin.    We must work with likeminded Republicans - they exist on this - to urgently chart a new course.

Housing is one of our biggest challenges in Vermont, and it touches so many of our other issues too.   That’s why it was so exciting to secure $1.75 million for the new West Brattleboro Terrace, which will provide affordable housing to 30 seniors when it’s complete.

Election Day is two weeks away!   Whether you’ll be voting by mail, voting early, or voting on Election Day itself, please see this new page on my website for helpful tips to make sure your voice is heard, no matter your voting plan.

We have been notified by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service that a letter intended for our office may contain a suspicious substance. We are working closely with postal inspectors and the appropriate law enforcement agencies to ensure the letter is safely intercepted and tested.

Threats against public servants are serious, and the safety of my staff and the Vermonters we serve is my priority. We are grateful to the postal inspectors and law enforcement officials working to address these incidents, and we will continue serving Vermonters while the investigation proceeds.

The sky-high cost of diesel is making life harder for everyone, including our first responders and essential government services.   We need to end the war in Iran, bring these prices down, and stop putting this strain on our public servants.

There are a lot of sick parts of our immigration system right now. One example is how *toddlers* are being forced to face immigration judges with absolutely no legal representation. It’s cruel and inhumane.

What we saw this weekend was a culmination of 2 years of energy building into this election. People are certainly feeling anxious, but also very optimistic that they have an opportunity to really make a difference in this country.

After their initial tariffs were found to be illegal, the Trump admin was forced to give refunds.
But we can see that the refunds are covering less than 35% of what VT small business importers paid. And that this money isn’t coming back to the consumers who paid the price in the first place.

People placed big bets just minutes before Trump announced a major policy reversal on Iran. Nonpolitical staff flagged suspicious insider trades. Then a Trump appointee told them to pull the report. Who benefits from this? Because it sure as hell isn’t the American people.

bloomberg.comCFTC Staff Were Told to Retract Analysis of Suspicious Oil TradesChairman’s adviser intervened to take over examination of lucrative bets that were made around Trump reversal on Iran power plant attack.

I’ve been thinking a lot about perfectionism and how it prevents us from taking risks and trying new things. I think it’s especially relevant for when the time comes for us to rebuild our government from the studs it’s being stripped down to.

I wanted to bring together leaders from both sides of the 🇺🇸-🇨🇦 border to hear directly from our small businesses about how the tariffs are impacting them.    These powerful testimonials will be front of mind for me when I head back to D.C.

So many families in Vermont and across our country know someone who has had breast cancer. That’s why it’s so important that we recognize National Mammography Day.    Early detection of breast cancer is critical and can save your life. Call your doctor and set up a mammogram today.

That's why I'm an original cosponsor of the Stop the Settlements Act which would sanction settlers to stop the construction of new settlements and expansion of existing ones. This is essential to stop the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and create a true pathway to peace.

I just completed my unannounced oversight visit to the ICE facility in Burlington, MA, where many Vermont detainees are taken. I was especially focused on the conditions women are facing here and deeply upset at what I saw. We all must keep the pressure on and call out this inhumanity.

This whole thing was a disgusting attempt at machismo from Pete Hegseth in the first place. I'm glad it was reversed.   Now, Hegseth can look forward to getting impeached by the House... assuming Trump doesn't try to scapegoat him for the war in Iran and fire him first.

It has now been 300 days since the DOJ was legally required to release the entirety of the Epstein files.   We’re not going to give up our fight to hold this administration accountable for their coverup and give the victims the justice they deserve.   Release the files.

This begs several very important questions:   Is this data being delayed because it contradicts the party line? Or because the admin gutted federal agency staff? Why is the Treasury Dept even involved here?   The American people deserve transparency from their own government.

politico.comAdministration delays release of IRS data showing impact of GOP tax cutsThe tax agency was supposed to release detailed data on this year's filing season in July. Months later, it's still unpublished.

Medicare Advantage plans need major reform. We’ve seen how so many of them don’t work for rural communities, like in Vermont.   But why are our options driven by profit in the first place? Everyone should be able to access high-quality care.   We need Medicare for All.

I’m so grateful for the roundtable we hosted today in Brattleboro with leaders from both sides of the U.S.-Canada border. We talked about a lot of the economic pinch points and I really got a sense of what we need the path forward to be. 🇺🇸🇨🇦

I don’t think it’s radical to say that this is unacceptable. No individual person should be able to spend $276 million in a single cycle to influence the outcome of our elections.   Our politics should be a level playing field for all - not a sand box for the ultra-rich.

I was heartbroken after Tropical Storm Irene devastated Melrose Terrace.   But I couldn’t be prouder to be playing a part in the neighborhood’s rebirth as West Brattleboro Terrace.
