The vibes are hideous. They have kiosks with robot “baristas” at the San Francisco International Airport. I’m awarding bonus points for still having actual human-driven taxis with proper taxi lines though, so all hope is not lost.

I’m at the fantastic new Hollywood-Burbank Airport. When I got here there was a huge, beautiful rainbow over the building. Excited to go back to San Francisco for the first time in quite a while, and I have amazing plans. It’s so nice to feel uncomplicated joy. 🌈

Sometimes I do procedures on patients who are awake and one of the nurses always turns on acoustic renditions of pop songs. Today as I was admiring how lovely one of the songs sounded, I suddenly thought “omg what if all this is AI?” I hate having to question everything this way.

Just told a K-pop friend that I have tickets for us to go to this on Friday and she is *giddy* -- I am the best trip/event planner.

After my sister brought her daughter to visit me, my mother pulled a long con of pretending to work on repairing our relationship that culminated in her traveling 2000 miles to talk at me about "grandparents' rights" and what she is entitled to from me, my sister, & my kids. Narcissism runs deep.
