Life's been a doozy -- still squeakin out some sketches

Sketchy Simon portrait for his upcoming D&D game

Tracking down reliable mesoamerican history online is a special kind of hell — so many sites and articles still spouting decrepit theories from decades ago or heavily focusing on the “taboo” elements, many of which were disproven ages ago but haven’t left the pop culture sphere of “trivia”

13 year old and 70 year old Simon sphinxes

WIP, redoing a comm for a pal — fun to see two years of painting progress on display

Hiding from the rain beneath a dead god's altar, not all too happy about it

Wind-down doodlings

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton -- I hope you've found the clear blue morning at the end of your rhinestone rainbow

Simon on Sunset Second AF attack, this time on @bargonauts.bsky.social! Simon Canaach is so handsome, I knew my revenge would feature him the moment I saw this sphinx. I thought a warm mood would fit him nicely (:

Portrait practice of my critter Simon

~45min landscape study -- tryin to get better at environments

Very pleased with what I’ve accomplished this AF … was great fuel to color and render more of my stuff. Now, back to the usual routine …

Finished -- Color practice of Simon in Mejan-Ves's northern rainforests, walkin on a log

I can SEE some improvement since the start of the month and I’m positively giddy about it. At long last able to draw my favorite critters without somethin feelin off. We are so back

Very funny to me that I’ve focused so hard on learnin to draw Simon’s dadbod that all humans and sphinxes I sketch got influenced by it — conscientious effort for each AF attack to *not* give them the fat he has

I do want … to find more pals to doodle or talk about OCs togetha with, cuz it’d be great fun to draw Simon (human or sphinx) with more folks’ critters. Just gotta wrestle the social anxiety over it…

Fourth attack is a revenge for @bargonauts.bsky.social of their sphinx, Simon! <333 #tempusobscura_art

Last time I properly drew Sphinx Simon in clothes was for my long and winding worldbuildin rabbit hole on how Hyenthrakuul Sphinxes wear clothes, when they do choose to wear them, which I don’t think ever made it over here — bonus lore friendly dad jeans for him

Sphinx Simon in the same outfit for the sillies -- you can draw whatever you want as an artist...

"Simon in random 60s/70s magazine clothes" continues to be old reliable wind-down sketch

Simon: the Shape (rectangle)

(trypophobia) Color scribbling with Simon

Winding down for a bit on AF has made me keenly aware of the fact that if I'm not occupied by commissions, worldbuilding, or studies, the one (1) thing I draw is Favorite Character

Spells for the Dead Remembered -- Simon's gravefellow magics for Hyenthrakuul

Hyenthrakuul doodling: Standard eastern Mejan-Ves clinic to Aeael-Beli-Naskara for alchemical/surgical aid -- featuring altars, tables, cleric-surgeon, patient, and patient's emotional support friend
