I am so pleased to report that one of the rescue chickens we got recently lays olive colored eggs!! I have ALWAYS wanted an olive layer & it's just never worked out for me. I didn't even ask what colors these girls lay since I was told they rarely do anymore. ❤️ 🥚 ❤️ Love our color palette 😍

Been missing Kai a lot this week, my beautiful old girl. She's been gone about a year & a half now, which is hard to believe. Bacchus & Crunchy do so many things that remind me of her & bring happy tears to my eyes! Her & I got an amazing 15 years together, & she was a few years old when I got her!

Kai always used to get into bed & lay right in my spot even though she knew I'd have to move her to get into bed. I'd say her name all fake admonishingly & she would flop over for some pets before I relocated her. Crunchy started doing the same thing a month or two ago ❤️‍🩹

Bacchus used to sit on Kai's tail or abdomen because he refuses to sit on a cold/hard surface. I saw him sitting on Ripley's middle while she was laying in the kitchen a couple days ago & had a lil sob. Ripley never even got to meet Kai, but she gets to know part of her anyway 🥰

not sure if my Little's parents will accept it, (it comes with some travel & party responsibilities out of town!) but my Little & I were voted Big & Little of the year in Alaska 🥲 it isn't official until they accept it, but whether we make it to the party to be recognized or not, I'm so proud of us!

mucked out the chicken coop this weekend. Finally been warm enough for long enough to thaw out all the frozen waste & bedding. This was the longest, coldest winter in my lifetime, the poor birds didn't come outside all winter. Nastiest & most physically demanding coop cleaning to date!

Slow but steady progress on sorting cds! Getting alphabatized to start. This is maybe 1/3 of the collection if I had to guess. Lots more still to go through! The top shelf alone has about 225 CDs on it already! 😵‍💫

Every Saturday is Piggie Renovation day, I take everything out of their cage & do a full cleaning down to the base (spot cleaning happens daily) & then "redesign" their layout a bit for the next week 😁 had to wake Peega up from where she passed out in the hay feeder 😂 Before the reset:

Got my hair cut yesterday & when I showed my best friend a Pic this morning he said I look like a "skater twink", which is a crazy coincidence because that was 100% the vibe I was going for 🛹🧒
