Playing Fallout has taught me that if I follow this guy, it'll lead me to a treestump full of loot... or possibly just omens. Either way, I'm in.

Star Trek: The Next Generation. The tar looking creature, Armus, in the episode Skin of Evil absolutely terrified me. The way it looked, the tiny jerky movements, the general horror of it. I was petrified of binbags for *years* because of this. I still think of it as The Binliner Man.

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

You ever read a book you really enjoyed, while knowing your friend would *never* read it, all the while sure that if they gave it a shot they'd fall in love with a character that isn't quite in it enough to carry the suggestion? I just know my best mate'd just love Thelwel from Cage of Souls ;n;

This is our Broken Mask Incident and it didn't try and mangle Piers Morgan? Boo.

🤖 AI actress 'Tilly Norwood' glitches 😵‍💫 and starts speaking CHINESE during interview with Piers Morgan w/ Tom Conti

Things I was frightened of as a child: Quicksand Acid rain Armus (the tar man thing) from Star Trek TNG The Groke from the Moomins The Autons from Pertwee's Doctor Who Deflated wrinkly balloons Excessive numbers of ticking clocks Seeing a scary face at my window (despite having a 3rd floor room...)

Things i was frightened of as a child: The giant Raggedy Ann doll my godsister had in her bedroom The fire alarm going off / fire drills at school balloons (still don't like but not as terrified of them now) fireworks the Flatwoods Monster Watership Down Needles

I love this cover. Seeing the whole piece is really cool. I always struggled to imagine the Stsho from the descriptions so its cool to see what they probably look like (outside of being tiny in the background of Chanur's Homecoming) c: Also everyone should read this series. I mean, look at it! ;n;

THE PRIDE OF CHANUR (1981)
 Acrylic on Illustration Board - 24" x 17"

The book that introduced the Hani to the world. In C.J. Cherryh's first novel in this series, the cat-like aliens find a human stowaway on their ship. 1/4 #bookssky #art 🪐📚

I detest that when I see an interesting novel these days I have to look into the publication date and/or the author's other work timescale to double check it's not AI slop. Such bullshit.

So last week I went to York and Whitby and I tested out my phone camera and its good! One of ny favourites was this plant ... a red hot poker! I thought it was cute.

I'm pretty sure I remember this part in Adrian Tchaikovsky's whimsical nightmare AI apocalypse story 'Service Model'.

I don’t want to be too sensationalist about this but also I’m the least violent person in the world and I think if someone said this to my face I’d hit them

I really hope when they release a remake of Fallout: New Vegas they go ham on the merchandise for it because if I don't eventually get a plush Eyebot in my life I might expire out of sheer depressed sadness. :C I just want a squishy ball robot so much.

💀 eBook Discount! DEAD THINGS by Stephen Blackmoore is only $1.99 on Kindle Daily Deals. Follow a tough-as-nails necromancer on a “deliciously gritty thrill ride” in this first Eric Carter urban fantasy full of dark magic, demons, and snappy sarcasm. buff.ly/Ra2I6la

Either Yahtzee Croshaw or David Mitchell or some horrible amalgamation of the two.

You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?

I just found out my favourite author has retired due to health issues. I love her books so much, I'm sad there'll be no more, but I hope she's comfortable and still enjoying life despite it all. ;n; Everyone go read the Pride of Chanur series by CJ Cherryh. It has anthro cat people. In space.

Today at work I got asked if Hush Puppies shoes are made of dog skin (because of the logo). He was 100% serious. I can't. It's too hot for this.

Half hoping England don't win. One, I quite like Mexico. Two, I work in retail and customers keep talking to me about football like I should care, and I don't. They get awfully offended that I've not watched any of the matches. Clutching my obsidian mirror and asking Tezcatlipoca for a miracle.

I'm currently listening to Spiderlight by Adrian Tchaikovsky and I am having a lovely time. What incredibly enjoyable narration! If anything bad happens to Enth (Nth?) I'm going to be very upset. ;n;

So I'm reading Hiromu Arakawa's newest manga and I've found a small creature in it I'm going to get weird about... look at this cute little thing

It was an audiobook. The story was an alternate history of WW1 where magic, particularly talking to ghosts, was a plot point. It had a largely British and British ally cast of characters. The American author, who cannot do any of those accents to save her life, was also the narrator. Horrendous.

I'd probably read this book if I could get hold of an inexpensive copy and had nothing else, but I can't recommend listening to it. It starts out with thr single worst Scottish??? accent I've ever heard and by the time it got to the West Indian woman I was out. Ghost Talkers by Mary Robinette Kowal

Post a cartoon you remember that (you think) no one else remembers I'm going with this, The Silver Brumby. Description in alt text, because it got long.

Post a cartoon you remember that (you think) no one else remembers Ok I’m sure a rare few people remember The Pirates of Dark Water… if only because it got cancelled before they could find all the treasures!

I want to learn how to draw more furry characters. I have, however, no characters like that myself so if you have any Fursonas/OCS etc., please share down below!! I will sketch them whenever I get to it!! Open to everyone! Maybe repost to spread the word? Much appreciated. ♥️ #art #furryart

Today, for my dad's birthday, I went to a lovely transport museum for old buses. They really don't make them like they used to. They were so elegant. Then I spent too much money in the local art market, but came away with cards, a granny-square bag, a fat pigeon, a cloud and a handpainted magnet.
