An egg living in the gilded shark tank. You don't hear about unions on the news because those companies own the news. Punch billionaires. Punch fascists. Free Palestine. PDX, chronically ill, cops have less dangerous jobs than delivery drivers.

"We had two tragic deaths in the House Democratic Caucus; had those deaths not occurred last month, Republicans could not have even passed the bill today," Hakeem Jeffries says. What he doesn't mention is both deaths were of politicians in their 70s. One had cancer but ran for re-election anyway.

It's hilarious that white nationalist preachers, musk, and the trump administration are all saying empathy is a sin and has ruined our country. As if the USA, in its entire history, has ever had even an ounce of empathy injected into its decision making.

The genocidal "Israeli" government has resumed it's unconscionable genocide.

so they starved Palestinians through a complete blockade, cut off all remaining electricity to the water desalination plant, and is now bombing Gaza. And our leaders are disappearing and deporting people for speaking out

Meanwhile over on the other place, rightwing free speech warriors (this guy is a former DeSantis campaign staffer) are calling for me to be denaturalized and deported because they don’t like my political speech. This is what fascism and racism looks like, folks.

if you want a frame for anger at elected dems right now, you could do worse than this. “we trusted you when we wanted more in 2018; we trusted you when we wanted more in 2021; and, ultimately, you failed, and we still want more but no longer trust you”

I cannot stress enough that the American people protested, donated, subscribed, and voted in record numbers in 2018 and 2020 and then those institutions that they propped up in opposition to Trump sought to accommodate him instead. And here we are.

I think the problem with everyone being raised on movies of revolution is that everyone keeps waiting for a dramatic swell of music to lead them to do something. If we play a soundtrack of anxious violins will you realize it's time to act?...

It's hilarious that humans think we're superior to other animals. There's no superiority in the global ecosystem. Every creature contributes to it. Until the vast majority removed ourselves from that process and began to take far more than we ever give. We fill our dead bodies with formaldehyde -🧵

intelligent. It's pathetic and tragic. Occasionally articles will come out about how people's entire well-being improves in nature. The fact that "nature" is this separate destination says a lot. Your blood pressure, your mental health, your ability to focus, it all improves. Because it's 4/

where we belong. Many people never left the ecosystem, they still contribute and live in balance with the land. They're the people imperialists have dared to call savages or lesser. They're the people we should be listening to.

instead of letting our rotting bodies feed the earth. Hell, our shit used to contribute in ways we won't allow anymore. We used to feed plants with our breath and now we filled every space with concrete where the plants can't thrive. We have instead filled every creature with plastic and we 2/

have destroyed entire ecosystems for our entertainment. We imprison other animals, who we see as lesser, and call it a zoo. Or a research lab. Or a factory farm. Even when we know alternatives exist. We destroy each other, blow up the earth, and then dare to call ourselves superior and more 3/

221 house democrats: 123 white, 55 Black, 32 Latine, 13 Asian, and 3 Indigenous. (it ignores multiracialism.) 95 women. Only 14 signed this letter. Asian- 1 Multiracial (Black & Latine) - 1 Latine- 1 Black- 9 White- 2 (1 gay man) --- Women- 10 Men- 4 Queer- 1 This is why representation matters.

It’s almost like actually humanizing trans people—letting us be in the room—creates real change and deescalates the culture war instead of treating as pawns to elicits support over, problems for being “too controversial”, or villains for being vocal about our issues to people who aren’t listening.

Rep Zephyr’s speech flips 13 GOPs, trans bills die in Montana Trans people have been scapegoated so effectively (among older people) that we're flooded with models of how to hate. But when people hear the love behind why we stand up for each other, we win. Bravo, @zoandbehold.bsky.social!

Painsomnia - when you have chronic pain and it's extremely hard to get or stay asleep and when you do sleep your sleep cycles are all fucked. Then your pain is worse. It's fun.

🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

I grew up in the county where Columbine happened. It shook everything and I have plenty to say about it... however it dawned on me that if Columbine happened today it would barely stay in the headlines, barely a ripple. What a disturbing realization.
