The next six months have all the hallmarks of serious change. Economic and geopolitical. Trump speaks to Congress this week and he will lay down the guidelines of this change. Hold on to your hats. It's going to be windy.

Who has viewed the 1949 B&W film 'All the King's Men' starring Broderick Crawford? Given our current political situation it's well worth the time.

Maga and its various leaders and minions are not an ideology. Not a stable position on the political spectrum. However it has a clear political objective. The consolidation of power centered on the Executive.

Biden gave two clear warnings. The existence of a wealthy ruling oligarchy and the control of AI. Have been arguing the same concerns over several years. Biden had the courage to warn against both much like Eisenhower's warning against 'the military industrial complex'.

Watching the 'Magnificent Seven'. Bernstein's score is a great intro. The film never grows old.

Watching the slow but never ending dumbing down of popular culture while AI promises a faster and all encompassing national security system. Worry that democratic values will disappear in a storm of sound bites.

The next 6 months promise unprecedented noise and nonsense. Find a quiet place. Let the shitstorm break. It to will pass.

Merry Christmas and a great New Year from Tucson!

In Atlanta waiting for a flight to Tucson. Despite the crowds people are full of holiday happiness looking forward to see loved ones sometimes far away. While reading a magazine I catch smiles and laughter. Let's remember the goodness in most people despite stated differences.

Travelling to Tucson for Christmas with family members. Bound to be quiet gaps so any suggestions as to how to fill them would be appreciated.

The picture of Trump with Vance, Johnson and Musk at the A-N game was truly Orwellian. The next six months promise to be chaotic as Trump, driven by hubris and ignorance, attempts to transform the federal govt.

Pearl Harbor Day. Those who have visited the Arizona Memorial are left with a hard memory. The oil still bubbles.

Need to focus on the coming musical chairs in DC re the Trump nominees. Remember that Trump is loyal to no one save himself and a few immediate family members. Should be entertaining as people come and go.

The upcoming confirmation process for all the nominees will look like I-95 after a violent snowstorm. Debris everywhere. The media will lap it up like hot soup.

Things are moving along. From Trump's Canadian joke (often a truth said in jest) to the rise of Turkey in the Middle East. Promises to be an active six months after Inauguration.

Two more Trump appointments are startling. Kushner Senior as Ambassador to France and Patel as FBI Director. Night is falling.

Who out there has a sense of foreboding regarding the confluence of recent events both domestic and foreign? Worried that we are poorly informed and, as such, are unable to predict where we are going.

Despite the holiday, things are still moving around in DC. It is well planned and continuous. Trump may be the frontman for something the country has never seen.

Trump is a known consideration. The question this time is who or what is behind his podium. His campaign was focussed, disciplined and well financed. His Cabinet picks came fast and furious. Not what occurred in 2016.

The next six months may determine the next five years within the geopolitical sphere. Worry that the West is too introspective and that its adversaries are intent on taking advantage. Two clear overarching concerns. Climate change and the AI.
