Happy Blue Monday

No Kings Oct. 17th, 2026, in red Lassen County today. Lots and lots of honks, waves,and thumbs up. Only a willfully ignorant person could believe that Trump snd his minions are making our lives better as our economy is on life support.

He wasn’t perfect, but he was intelligent, educated, hardworking, articulate, moral, inspirational, and self-aware. He worked toward a better life for all Americans and tried to improve the situation he inherited. I miss those days when we had hope for a better future.

Winter came back for a few days to remind us who is boss. Days of rain followed by a few inches of snow. Appreciating the moisture💕. Waiting for the aspen to leaf out.

Mt. Lassen from Highway 36 (with way too little snow this time of year). You can see lots of burned trees in the distance from the Dixie Fire a few years ago that burned about a million acres of forest and many homes. #mtmonday

Excursion? Incursion? Who can be bothered with the difference in definitions. Not this president. It’s a bigly word that sounds cool. I bet someone called it a military incursion, and gramps heard excursion and signed up for the cruise.

Watched 10 minutes of Trump bloviating, JD scanning the room, and Mikey bobbleheading vapidly. Then, switched to The People’s SOTU. It was inspirational in a way the SOTU never is. Seeing real people working for the betterment of ALL freezing their tushes off to get their messages out -YES!!!

Retreating into my happy place once in awhile helps get me through this difficult, frightening time

Was exciting to get together again to protest one year of this hideous regime. Only about 65 people there today, but got lots of honks and enthusiastic waves from passers by. Also, a couple younger people stopped by and were happy to hold American flags and signs. Hoping more will come over time.

Winter has settled in for a long visit in the mountains.

First snowfall of the year, which is late for us, but it was a doozy. Too many people must’ve been wishing for a white Christmas.🥴

Great day with about 165 people with lots of patriotism and energy! Thanks also to a local policeman for watching over us from the parking lot and lighting up (and ticketing, I hope) the yahoo who kept roaring by and “rolling coal” (I think that’s the term for belching out exhaust) over our group.

Big weekend! Tomorrow we come together to protest the abuse of the many by the few, and then on Sunday we P.E.O. Sisters put on a sip and dip painting event to fund our scholarships for women. Looking forward to lots of joy💕

Finally was able to get a covid vaccine🤗. Have never had the virus as far as I know, and want to keep it that way🤞👍

What is going on with this admin. is social murder wrapped in the guise of personal choice.The gutting of the CDC and HHS is a perfect example. Once they don’t rec. a vaccination, it will not be supported by insurance, and poor people will not be able to pay for their children to be vaccinated.

If we get through this without totally losing our democracy, Congress should set up a system whereby any nominee for a lifetime appointment who verifiably lies during their confirmation hearings should be removed from the office they’re holding. It should be retroactive.

We he pulls out the “hoax” response, it is clear that he is guilty as hell!!

Great day in Susanville! Over 120 enthusiastic, energetic patriots rallying for democracy. Lots of positive responses from drivers by - honks, thumbs up, waves. Maybe our red county is changing at least a little….

It seems like leaders who are brazen enough to openly defy the truth, laws, rulings, morality, and historical precedent can get away with running roughshod over the country because there is no effective mechanism to stop them as they pump out propaganda to cover their actions. Congress, help!!

Working on posters for Saturday, and wondering why there isn’t a way to get access to ICE holding cells by LA representative. Who makes sure laws are followed? There are no laws without enforcement!
