Like many bookish kids, I was unable to maintain the habit the same into adulthood. I find myself shifting between long droughts without reading into feverishly inhaling books and back again now. How do people manage to maintain consistent reading habits, I wonder.

Some people say "I try to read one book every month," which sounds easy until I see my reading pile varies from barely 100 pages to over 800 page books and wonder how to accomplish such a goal. Is it just a matter of averages then?

My plan for the town assets is a few sizes and layouts of mostly featureless buildings, and then a bunch of greeble I can stick onto them. Also leveraging the lattice modifier a bit so I can skew and distort the buildings, like the one on the left here.

LRP First time I'd seen this comic was after it was quoted by Naoki Urasawa. I'm glad there are prominent members of the industry willing to be outspoken about the brutal work culture many artists face in these industries.

So often people feel a sense of accomplishment and pride to say how much they've sacrificed for work. "I haven't slept in days!" "Well I haven't slept all week!" But this sort of one-upsmanship of self-neglect is so insidious.

On one hand, it's great to have such a stable little community. Everyone's great and generally get along perfectly well on their own. I love it. I guess I just find myself wondering what I should have done if anything in hindsight about myself.

No one really talks about how easy it is to fall into the background and become an arm's length moderator in your own community. At some point you realize "I never really put in the work to become a part of this, did I, and now it runs without me."
