You know there are two things that are gonna happen when it happens. Unless it's a very, very obvious or on-camera moment - His followers will have a new Elvis that "isn't really dead" OR His followers will use his death to solidify that some kind of leftist conspiracy killed him.

Wait, is the reason that everything you buy at the grocery store now has "added protein!" because we couldn't sell any of our soybeans so it all got sold into protein powder food derivatives?

I want to believe this, but what part of this is the AI-summary cannibalization that's affecting ALL websites?

A lot of attention has been paid to the collapse of traffic to The Daily Wire and Ben Shapiro's YouTube channel. But other ragebait sites are also seeing huge drops in audience. According to The Righting, Outkick, The Federalist and The Blaze are down at least 48%. therighting.com/traffic-repo...

There's a hidden illiteracy problem in the United States. And it isn't just kids without access to education, it's the greater adult population. People guess at what things say instead of actually reading. It's terrifying.

::clears throat:: If your assessment of Maine's political landscape is "well, they voted for LePage, so..." Go look up what % of Maine voted for him. I'll wait. Or, better yet ... Accept that it's all more complex than can fit in a tweet

Today while I was in the bathroom, my daughter was playing with my husband, then pushes open the door to get to me. Hubs says, "let's come out, mama needs some privacy" and she stops, looks at me with big concern and says, "mama you need privacy?" 🥹

And I say "yes, please" and she goes over to the wall, mimes scooping something into her hand, and says, "Here mama, here's some privacy" and puts the imaginary thing in my hand 😂

YES, THIS.

Not sure about the layout choices here, but this is the kind of rhetoric that seems to be resonating. It's angry and anti-establishment and doesn't even mention the word Democrat. Very similar to Troy's use of "not-left, not-right, but from the bottom."

IMHO all Maine democrats need to do is align their messaging on Platner as the following: Collins - elite, out of touch, ineffective, old Platner - working dude, mainer, real, new "like you" You don't even have to do issues or swing a big blue flag, I promise.

Ok who wants to fund a journalism site called "The Follow Up" where a bunch of reporters just call after stupid stories break and get the actual story by actually asking questions?

Imagine: We could have a submission form where people sent in things they want followed up on. Every morning we could scrum and assign stories for on-the-ground follow up and basic journalsim. Breaking stories could be tied to factual timelines that are updated with new info.

I want to believe this story, I do, but good lord at least pick up the phone and ask? Like, do they have a blast chiller on site? Freeze drying isn't just a thing you do...

Do you ever wonder what the total volume or average number of emails and text sent per day just for 2-factor authentication is? It must be staggering.

If anyone's confused about what's going on in the strait of Hormuz, I highly recommend a YouTuber that has the channel name. "What's going on with shipping?" The man is a treasure and it puts things into context. Source: YouTube share.google/2KQjC9bqJOVF...

share.googleWhat's Going on With Shipping? What's Going on With Shipping focuses on Maritime Industry Policy, and current events in the Maritime Sector, along with Maritime History. The channel features videos that examine the world's mercha...

Removed the brewery name here, but this has to be one of the worst ways to display information on a calendar I've seen... they have multiple locations but let's see what's going on each day... Not location???

Ok here's your primer on ME-2: Jared Golden announced in 2025 that he's not seeing re-election. The Democratic primary is June 9, and then the general election is November 3rd. BOTH of these elections will use ranked-choice voting, FYI.

We have a field of democrats running, notably: Joe Baldacci, state senator and former mayor of Bangor Matt Dunlap, Maine's State Auditor, former seven-term Secretary of State. Jordan Wood was previously running for U.S. Senate, but switched to this race after Golden dropped out.

No matter who gets the Democratic nomination, this is probably going to be a helluva fight to keep miniTrump/Lepage out of that seat. I'm not looking forward to the midterm lead up, personally.

In 2024, Trump won ME-2 over Harris 53.5% to 44.5%, while Golden narrowly won re-election with just 50.3% of the vote, about 2,700 votes. It's widely considered one of the top pickup opportunities for Republicans in the country. (TLDR: We're ditching Golden, yes, but it might go red instead)

Former Maine governor Paul LePage (a dickhead we elected twice because of plurality, hence, the ranked choice making a difference here) is running on the R-side, and frames his campaign around the argument that rural Maine isn't getting its "fair share" of resources. 🙄

Hahahaaa just realized Mamdani is gonna be sending a tax bill to Trump because he doesn't live there, he lives in Mar-A-Lago / the white house hahahaha

Anyone freaking out about new taxes for the rich needs to look up how much we USED to tax the rich. We didn't make this up, folks, they just weaseled their way out of it over the last 20-30 years.

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

There's a group of people that I just seriously don't understand and can't empathize with: those who are never curious about anything. How can you not be curious about life? What's around you? History? Nature? Culture? What a sad life to never want to know anything.
