I had a hell of a time voting this midterm because I hate our current rep, but his opposition is minutely worse. Its because of shit like this. THIS makes it hard to vote.

In a major escalation in Dems embracing anti-trans positions, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the official campaign arm of House Democrats, released its first anti-trans ad supporting Nancy Lacore in SC-01. Transphobia is spreading among dems. Subscribe to support our journalism.

What @ferries.wsdot.wa.gov is leaving out here is that a lot of engineers are working working overtime due to short-staffing. 42% of ferry engineers have had to cancel planned vacations because of this. WSF are in the wrong here but won't admit that. #overtime #overwork #union #burnout

The employees who work in the engine room play a vital role in providing WSF’s safe service, which is why Chief Engineers have a base salary of $157,000, and can make more than $350,000 a year with overtime, as well as annual sick and vacation leave, and retirement accrual.

Replying to @governorferguson.bsky.social

Would this be happening if you hadn't earmarked $200 million extra for state police while telling every other department to tighten their belts? This is what happens when you elect a cops as Governor. Stop doing this to yourselves, people. Law enforcement doesn't understand you or your needs.

seeing the person that assaulted me in college posting stuff supporting survivors really makes me want to raise every level of hell :)

I realized I had a nieche 9/11 story about how I learned the scope of it. I was barely awake for school when the 1st plane already hit, and AT school I didn't see much because the principal got on the intercom to tell teachers to shut the TVs off. I learned more later... in the Neopets forum.

I ended up in the vortex of joy last night and didn't live post anything else lmaoooo the concert was phenomenal. I went with my mom, and both of us got to hear some of our favorites. Completely magical evening.

can someone send a bat signal to Tori Amos to consider performing Desperado this tour 🙏 imagine it with her back up singers. lordy.

illustration I'm working on for one of the TTRPGs I'm playing. This is a wip (forgot vest buttons + rendering in progress) but considering this is the 1st time in 18 years I've drawn furries, I'm happy with it so far. #digitalart #digitalillustration #furry #ttrpg

i found out by accident via clearsky that I was at one point put on the "A blockenheimer list for ppl that liked some liberal bullshit" block list which is kinda funny and definitely was put there by somebody who has never talked to me once in their lives

with all of the surprises that Tori Amos has been pulling out this tour, I'm going to be absolutely obliterated when she comes to Woodinville.

thought experiment: if title ix has been used to argue that sexual assault is a violation of it but the person who assaulted me in college is the same sex, does that like. do anything or mean anything different. this is a real question.

i've been screaming about this for years actually. i'm not a trans woman, i'm just sick of transmisogynists winning because they think same sex spaces are somehow inherently safer when the most violent sexual assault i've been through was committed by someone i would've shared a bathroom with.

Fuck every single Democrat that has ever been willing to compromise on trans dignity, rights and humanity. I hope you assholes are pleased with yourselves. I don’t know if you could’ve prevented this moment, but you should’ve been fighting every step of the way.

See, people always want to make this just about "sports," but the real upshot here is that, 6-3, trans women can't make a claim under the Equal Protection Clause. And if they can't do that, it's hard to see how they have constitutional rights.

Transphobic people are always trying to convince me, a trans person, that I should hate Muslims because they hate queer people, but Muslim people are kind to me at higher rates than Christians are. I will not be coerced into hating people just as downtrodden as me.

the KP allegations and the overwhelming support I've actually seen, the belief that the allegations are sincere, is kinda making me feel like I can take deep breaths and maybe be a bit more open about some of mybown experiences. I've tried for years and YEARS to add to the conversation.

I'm non binary and have been openly bisexual for years. My abuser at the time, because we had many conversations about gender, was a cis woman. No clue if that's how she identifies now. The way that cis women commit SA--out in the open--hits so close to home for me.

the part here that's really, really hitting close to home about this for me is that it took her 20 years to speak up about this.

Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her around 20 years ago. She alleges Perry rubbed her “disgusting v**ina” on her face, causing Rose to vomit. She adds that she filed a police report regarding the incident a few hours ago.

my mom and I are texting and she's asked that if anything happens to get all of us (5 person household including me) to come over there but like there's a naval base between us so if that's a target we literally couldn't. I'm not personally worried about us. I'm worried about Iran.

In all seriousness, one thing that might be worth doing today: Tell your Reps and Senators to call Adm. Richard Correll, the Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, which controls the nation's nukes, and remind him of *his* unique responsibility to refuse an illegal order.

once again wishing Kade Ferris was still here. Too many thoughts in my head around identity and he really just had a way of cutting through bullshit.

something I would not have guessed while reconnecting is that I would end up with more information than the tribal archivist has of my own family and then correct misinformation (that we are all connected to river villages)

like when you're reconnecting you're an outsider but when you are facing off against a part of tribal history that was erased *from within the tribe* then like... that's a really delicate spot to be in!! like what is the space I'm taking up in this right now? I could argue it's the space left--

--when the coastal villages were largely excluded down to the dialect not being part of the language revitalization. seriously. I've been trying to be so mindful of the conversations I'm in and spaces I inhabit as somebody reconnecting but this is completely new territory LMAO

this extends now to neighboring communities I guess.

since I've been doing this work for about 8 years now, almost passively at times because I was afraid, its actually really damn hard to take up space as a reconnecting native when nobody talks to you. I've lost count at how many messages and emails have been left on read over the years.

-- the tribe federally organized and these can't be separated. I'm not even worried about being racially white and trying to reconnect. I worry about what got traded away to the feds that eliminated the coastal language dialect and recognition.

Forgot to add that using anthropology sources has been a desperation measure. These were the same guys that were robbing graves as recently as the 30s. I have exhausted quite literally every other source I found.

There's no response. I go to newspaper archives and BIA records and try again. No response. I reach out to non-native authors who immediately give me info, then I reach out to kin. No response. I read about the federal organization of the tribe and see coastal villages were --

-- excluded and draw some conclusions. I make a list of more source documents to read once I'm actually physically present in the area, but the only space I'm taking up is the one I make online. My feed, my accounts, my blogs, and my email. Part of my disconnection is the history of how --

I wax and wane with how I do this where I've spent time pinpointing who my family is and where we come from, not knowing that where we come from might be a factor in why nobody responds to me most of the time. I go to books written by anthropologists, do more research, and try again.

day 1 of calling rep larsen to request an explanation of what he means to help enforce ICE following rules like all the other federal agencies when they've already been breaking them

a thought about this boycott that's happening today because really that's what this is: even if you're participating, are you still going out to watch your neighbors ot does ICE have a free day of less witnesses?
