I had so much fun chatting to Phil about staging Shakespeare in all sorts of weird and wonderful spaces around the world: Parking lots ✅ Asylums ✅ Archaeological sites ✅ Riverbanks ✅ Divers ruinous locales ✅ His podcast is a fantastic resource, please do consider supporting his work here: 🎭📚🥳

In today's new episode hear Ben Blyth and I discuss Shakespeare in performance and how non-theatre locations can shape, challenge, and benefit performance. doi.org/10.1017/9781... #theatre #theatrehistory #Shakespeare #sitespecific podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...

Is there a coat of arms more suited to the Halloween season than this one?! This image comes from a German manuscript made up of a collection of coats of arms which relate mainly to the Holy Roman Empire. It was probably written in southwest Germany or Switzerland, around the early 16th century.

One of the things I love about the discovery reported in today’s Guardian is that it puts paid to the prejudice you see in a lot of biofiction that Anne Shakespeare/Hathaway would have been illiterate. Nope! www.theguardian.com/culture/2025...
