Brainstorming for 4-dimensional dungeons. Just playing with physical components really helps me think through the possibilities. What if I cut or folded the base paper? What if I add multiple floors (other sheets) and connected them at weird angles.... 🧵

Even knowing these are drawings, every time I see Elicia's work I do a doubletake before I realize I'm not looking at an altered photograph. Magical Hyperrealism?

What kind of GM are you? I'm sort of nomadic tent city multitudes of psychedelic mushroom people GM.

I've expanded on this annoying abstract diagram to make it more useless.

I recently installed a new browser and had the rare experience of looking at #YouTube without my normal algorithm - or any browser profile or cookies or anything installed. It was really disturbing and very, very right wing. At least a dozen of the top videos it suggested were attacks on feminism.

One would think that whatever the POTUS calls "the ban on the free press" would be summarily overturned by the SCOTUS, but this is America so it probably will be allowed to stand and all the media companies affected will pay him a million dollars and promise to kiss ass even more.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: On the ban, what does that mean in practice? Are you taking away their badges? TRUMP: When you say 'the ban,' which ban? Do you know how many bans I'm involved in? I've got more bans going than anyone! Q: But what does it mean? T: I still don't know -- oh, the ban on the free press, right?

AI industry experts who call the risk of human extinction from AI is "serious but manageable" usually say the risk is 2.5-5%. Imagine you had a magic 20-sided die that let you name any real world problem and on a 2+ it was fixed, but if you roll a 1, EVERYONE dies. No sane person rolls that die.

"You gave us billions to create this technology that we've known was civilization-ending dangerous for decades, and now that we've made it, it definitely might be.... so you should give us billions more to be sure that we keep making it even more dangerous, but responsibly now because arms race!"

They are hemorrhaging money and the only way they don't get all their knees broken is if their motives shift from VC money to "careful government research" Hence the nonstop fear mongering

The #IHRA Working Definition of #Antisemitism, by conflating the "Jewish right to self-determination" with the "Jewish right to an independent ethnostate", is itself antisemitic bc it presumes that unlike all other ethnicities, Jews cannot have a right to self-determination without ethnonationalism.

So yeah, even without having to mention that Zionists like Jabotinsky were explicitly racist colonizers who planned for the genocide of the Palestinian people, or that Israel is currently carrying out that genocide, I can still maintain theological anti-Zionism and doing so isn't antisemitic.

By prioritizing the patch of ground of ancient Zion over Zion as the "healed world" which is (in a mythic sense) everyone's home to which we're always returning, we "mistake our fingers for the moon" replacing the struggle to rebuild a better world with the struggle to hold a literal hill to die on.

A "Zionist" agenda that is not both universally intersectional - seeking to build a "zion" for all people - and also stateless - one that acknowledges that wherever people are, they deserve to be home in that place in that moment, is one that entirely missed the point.

But even setting aside critiques of ethnonationalism and Israel, anti-Zionism is an entirely valid Jewish *theological* position. The existence of a Jewish state binds our spiritual practice, culture, and traditions to the crass geopolitical demands of a modern nation state.

Hey everybody. On the 25-year anniversary, we're reprinting the much revered 9/11 edition of The Onion and sending that free to every member this month. It's been 25 long years. Look back in anger.

I've had a Gamefound account for a long time. I just noticed that I misspelled my own name. In other news, I put the compost bucket in my trunk. The next day, I noticed the car smelled *terrible*. I didn't know why until my wife opened the trunk and asked why the compost bucket was in there.

What if labyrinths and mazes could be a GM tool? How can we use invisible games tethered to strange details to structure psychological horror? Can Uno be terrifying?

Hearing Trump talking about trade makes it so obvious why he's filed for bankruptcy so many times. How can a guy who spent 50 years pretending to be a businessman not understand that US companies importing goods isn't bad for US companies. They already wouldn't be doing it if it was bad for them.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump says the US would “save” $90 billion by cutting off trade with Canada 🥴

Now that Elon's X Groks, does that trump the use of grok the way Trump trumped trump? Because I feel like it does and just don't like either word anymore. I didn't really go for grok in the first place, but as a table top game designer, getting icked by the word "trump" has been obnoxious.

people gotta support each other doing cool stuff or no one will be able to do cool stuff.

We were planning to have a podcast episode up today talking more about Rascal's finances, plans for the future, and how you can help us survive long enough to realize them. Mysterious PC failure postponed that plan (tomorrow), but you can support us RIGHT NOW: www.rascal.news/state-of-the...

TBF, if everyone on Earth turned into a bear - bear body, bear mind - the world would be way better off, and most people would probably be ok with it.

TIL that typing chrome://flags/ into your #Chrome address bar gives you a (pretty huge) list of experimental features #Google has opted you into trying without asking! You can disable ones you don't want. I used it to disable the shitty new #Android Chrome AI focused UI update. Search "bottom bar"

Wow. What a thread. The only time I thought about 4 dimensional beings in Ross in RPGs was when I saw them as antagonists in a Mage: the Ascension book. I thought they were too complicated to include. But this is crazy and weird and fun! Very wow!

I just noticed that my #Google storage plan has been "upgraded" to a Google AI plan that includes that storage I already had, but is now more expensive. It's no longer an option to buy just the storage.
