Our review on the interplay between metabolism and tissue mechanics is now published in @dev-journal.bsky.social Development!

Metabolism is traditionally studied at the individual cell level, yet its role during development is very much under-appreciated. @mongeralab.bsky.social, @matyasbl.bsky.social and Olivier Pourquié lab discuss this interesting interplay between metabolism and morphogenesis: doi.org/10.1242/dev....

The fact that AI is not your peer and is therefore fundamentally unqualified to do peer review is a hill I will die on.

Have you ever gotten in a fight w/ a neighbor? Was it about eels? In 1277, a Wiltshire man named William Durdi charged 3 of his neighbors w/ poaching eels from him. Sadly for William, a jury dismissed the case, finding the men had taken the eels from their own fishing spots. 🗃️🧪

An old friend asked if I had any videos of cilia laying around for her class to see. I dug up this one from about 10 years ago and it could maybe win a prize for 'most similar to a wacky waving inflatable tube man'.

Put 110% into 100% of things you do and you might be surprised at the results and what you can achieve. It’s about maximum effort every single moment of every single day.

This is so cool! Can’t wait to see Idefix’s photos

And Lift Off! A glorious launch of #MMX, the start of an amazingly awesome 5 yr round trip to Mars' moon Phobos. 1yr to get there, 3yrs exploration landing on the surface (twice), then 1yr to get home with the bounty (2tbls of Phobos dust), arriving in the Australian outback in 2031! 🥳🔭🧪🛰️🚀

The Very Hungry Games, an epic four-movie saga of one caterpillar's struggle first to survive and then to overthrow a tyranny (part III, set during the chrysalis phase, will be told largely in flashback but also cover the adventures of an earthworm ally)

Either this show will be a massive failure, which will have big commercial consequences and therefore terrible creative ones elsewhere in HBO/Skydance, or it will be a success, which will result in new frontiers of padding across every other established property.

1/ Our paper, “Enhancer binding kinetics explain transcription factor hub formation,” is now published! Here we set out to understand why transcription factors form bright clusters or “hubs” in the nucleus, and whether those hubs actually control gene activity. tinyurl.com/38uf8348

Editors and reviewers, just like authors, are quite busy and are trying their best. Being rude with us editors helps no one. Being understanding, on the other hand, goes a long way. Thank you for your patience.

why is it that France has never over the past 60 years produced a good or popular rock group/singer? (Plastic Bertrand doesn't count he was a proto-Milli Vanilli and the real guy is Belgian)
