I recall seeing a 3-dimensional "rolling marble" graph that illustrated hothouse dynamics well. I think its graph units included Time, Temperature and perhaps level of Greenhouse Gas Pollution. Anyone know where to find that graph?

🆕 Several Earth system components may be closer to destabilisation than previously thought. Crossing key temperature thresholds could trigger feedback loops, pushing the planet toward a “Hothouse Earth” trajectory. Good sense in this: "There is growing research that shows how spending time in nature can improve mental, physical and cognitive health, something that the stewards of Ho‘oulu ‘Āina have seen firsthand." www.seattletimes.com/nation-world...

Fascinating story in the development of new energy technology, re-thinking the idea of an engine, relying on flameless chemical reactions. Mainspring's linear generator won innovation awards from BNEF in 2023 and IEEE in 2024. spectrum.ieee.org/mainspring-e...

spectrum.ieee.orgThis New Breed of Generator Can Run on Almost Any FuelThe engineers at Mainspring Energy have unwound conventional generator design and come up with the linear generator. They explain their journey and how the breakthrough technology works.

Watch CO2 move through the atmosphere over three months. Orange is the highest concentration, then gray as CO2 disperses. Forests pulse daily, producing then absorbing CO2. Individual power stations are visible as points where the pollution streams out of. Best full-screen. #Climate #CO2 #Pollution

Kudos to more than 150 scientists and other experts who spent thousands of hours working on the National Nature Assessment. Leading scientists plan to submit it for review, though Trump tried to suppress its findings. #Wildlife #Ecology #Nature www.nytimes.com/2025/02/10/c...

nytimes.comTrump Killed a Major Report on Nature. They’re Trying to Publish It Anyway. The first full draft of the assessment, on the state of America’s land, water and wildlife, was weeks from completion. The project leader called the study “too important to die.”

Not only that, but much of the science community here is already stronger and larger than it was on X. On Twitter, my feed of scientists who study climate-related topics topped out at 3300. Here, we’re at 4500 already and it’s still growing. Pin here: bsky.app/profile/did:...
