Replying to @gilduran.com

Even as my book heads toward publication, I remain amazed that someone else didn't write it first. More than a few marquee journalists at major publications were in much better positions to tell the world about Silicon Valley's dangerous radicalization. Even now, at this late stage, most are silent.

What Peter Thiel Saw In Jeffrey Epstein "Both believed that civilization was collapsing and that democratic norms were failing. And both did their part to help bring about these apocalyptic fantasies." "Both men saw crypto as a weapon." www.thenation.com/article/soci...

In the late 1990s, Peter Thiel read a strange book called "The Sovereign Individual: How To Survive and Thrive During the Collapse of the Welfare State." It predicted the decline of nations and the rise of a "cognitive elite" empowered by a new digital currency. And now...(coming August 2026)

Peter Thiel has been open about this for a long time. Trump is a way to break the republic, which can then be replaced by “free economic zones” with oligarchs as dictators and tech as a taskmaster for helpless humans without any rights. (1/2)

“Though Epstein has gone, the cryptocurrency infrastructure he helped to rescue, the ideological antipathy to regulation in Silicon Valley, and the dark, unaccountable influence of crypto politics in our democratic elections remain one of his most damaging legacies.” By Peter Jukes, 2/3/26

I am finally back on & appreciate all the reporting by @lorak.bsky.social and @axios.com, plus many others who reached out to express their outrage. If tech companies cannot take criticism, especially for safety critical applications, sadly many more people will be seriously hurt or killed

My free speech has been censored by @linkedin.com because I was critical of an audit and I want to know if @waymo.bsky.social or @tuev.bsky.social or someone on their behalf has told LinkedIn to censor me and threatened them in someway (like removing sponsorship)?

Billionaires wanting to take their toys and leave everyone else behind is pretty much the Network State cult in a nutshell. Problem is: all of their visions require our destruction. That’s why “so what“ doesn't work. This is an existential struggle: a handful of billionaires vs everyone else.

Tech fascists believe they are going to merge with AI, live forever and colonize the universe as a species of self-replicating machines that eat the energy of the stars. We can think big, too. Anything is possible. Don't let billionaires monopolize the power of radical imagination.

Gil Durán@gilduran.com

Here's an idea: Any Democrat who wants to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate in 2028 must pledge to rip this cabal of anti-democracy tech fascists out of our government. Anyone who won't make that pledge is for the billionaires, not the people. This must be a deal-breaking litmus test.
