Haha! I love this thread. @senfoonglim.bsky.social @orangerful.bsky.social and @exeunt.press all in one chat? Magical! Also funny small world - I just presented a panel with @exeunt.press at ALA Annual last month!

Yes! It’s a mini Comic-Con but I’m talking with the librarian about running some seminars on game design for board games and TTRPGs etc. Do you know @bexagons.bsky.social? She’s an awesome librarian who promotes tabletop games heavily wherever she roams!

TUMULUS by @exeunt.press arrived earlier this week. This is issue #6, Hammer a nail in the coffin, along with the bookmark game Blood Chapter. 🦇 My Exeunt Press section on this bookshelf is now full, eek! Shelf rearranging is in my future. Also thanks for the reminder to renew!

Ahhh, I'm so excited for these bookmarks! Last semester I worked with students in the North Central College Design Agency class and they designed these for @oesterlelib (where I'm a librarian). Sky, Meredith, and Paulina were lovely to work with 💙 I've printed 1/3 of the designs, more to come later!

Just submitted a grad school recommendation for a student and I am feeling super emotional. Go out and do wonderful things you amazing person! Also makes me want to hug @cheeflo.bsky.social, who wrote one of MY grad school recommendation letters several years ago.

Not my own game project, but I've been folding some tiny zine games for solstice gifts. This one from @junkfoodgames.bsky.social is one of my go-to tiny solstice gifts for anyone I've not given it to already, so my team at work is getting it this year. junkfoodgames.itch.io/a-shrine-for...

I think that if there's an overarching theme to my writing at Skeleton Code Machine, it's that I want people to try to make games. Little games, big games, weird games, whatever. I believe that act of creating art and games is inherently good. Hopefully today's post encourages people to try it.

What do you need for a game jam? “Two tables. Done.” Game jams—accelerated game creation events—started as a way to develop video games, but they’re also useful for creating tabletop role-playing games, which have grown in popularity in recent years. Read more: https://bit.ly/43qkkRQ
