Most American have zero interest in the US government treating one of our most important historical allies and trading partners like this. But the worst among us is running the country, thanks to the worst and most irresponsible voters among us.

Trump & Republican attempts to cancel, cancel out or otherwise sabotage the elections must be called out, among other things, as cowardice. They know they will lose. Cancelling the election is like not showing up for the Super Bowl or preventing the opponent from getting to the stadium. Cowards.

Marc Elias@marcelias.bsky.social

It's an all hands on deck moment. Lawyers need to do their job to protect elections. Courts must do their job to ensure the law is followed. And, voters must make sure they have a plan to vote and turn out.

Anyone but Rutschman! Quality switch-hitting catchers don't grow on trees and switch-hitters are a vital commodity on this team. As Adley goes, so go the O's.

He’s soooooo proud to announce that they’re not going to be biased one way or another You can tell he practiced that exact line in the mirror a dozen times before going out there

And McConnell was leading the charge back then.

God@thegodshow.com

Once upon a time Republicans demanded long-form birth certificate from Barack Obama. We’re only asking for a 10-second proof-of-life video from Mitch McConnell.

Many don't realize he's won more Oriole games I42) than any other pitcher since 2016, he's gone 41-34 since 2022. He was key to 2023 but even last yr. he was 11-10 on a losing team w/ WAR 2nd to Rogers for pitchers (4th on team). His disrespectful Spring demotion messed him up & caused his injury.

Dean Kremer is so frustrating for how good he can be.

Enforcing the taxing of the rich is half the battle, right?

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power. We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people. Taxing the rich isn't just an economic issue, it's a defense of our democracy.

But then it's said Dems still have to prove to many voters they will do better. Sadly, some still need to be informed that it's Dems who brought us Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, higher wages, all our protections, & all equal rights laws -- so it's Dems who will protect & restore these things.

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." –Justice Louis Brandeis Words spoken many years ago that are just as relevant today. We must continue the fight to get big money out of politics.

Predictions are from mid-2024 but we could have another shot in 2026 only if -- (even with the votes) we ensure there will be an election that survives: attempted cancellation or postponement; purged, blocked, intimidated or misinformed voters; sabotaged, altered, or certification-refused results.

Republican leaders want us to choose between food and medicine as they take back their tax payments and gild their ballrooms.

SNAP benefits are about to lapse for 42 million people, because nothing says “save the children” like starving them.

This is how Trump rewards the people who put him in power.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

Re: Comey’s impending indictment. Nobody should support this. You don’t want to live in a place where the president can have you indicted via tweet. I’m sure we’re going to skip right over the GOP folks who did the same thing they’re saying Comey did, too.

And none of them are using their power to restore American democracy.

The richest man on earth owns X. The second richest man on earth is about to be a major owner of TikTok. The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post. See the problem here?

For what it's worth "Baseball Reference" shows a MLB Average ERA as 3.90 for year 1959, 3.70 for year 1975, and 4.14 for year 2025 -- so far. This does not take into account starters vs. relievers.

Jake Rill@jakerill.bsky.social

#Orioles' Trevor Rogers lowered his ERA from 1.41 to 1.40. It's the best by a pitcher through 13 starts of a season in O's history (since 1954). 1. Rogers -- 1.40 in '25 2. Hoyt Wilhelm -- 1.50 in '59 3. Jim Palmer -- 1.55 in '75 Again -- that's better than 2 Hall of Famers.

Inslee: If you need more energy, the dumbest thing you can do is disallow access to wind, solar, and advanced batteries—three of the most productive ways of producing new energy. And yet, that’s exactly what he’s done.

Too expensive to watch a AA team. Espec. if you bought your tix while the post-injury O's were playing .600 ball in June-July. Some lifelong die-hards may not live long enough to see a competitive team. The O's mean too much for some fans to merely hope again while mgmt. plays fantasy baseball.

Watching the 2025 Orioles season play out and then developing a plan that requires people to commit even MORE money and time to hang onto their season tickets for next year is (as is oft remarked to Cotton) a bold strategy.

No Kings March June 14 -- There are many, many millions of Americans who are profoundly against the Trump Administration. All of us, not just thousands, need to get out there this time for these marches. No one should stay on the sidelines & just root for us or watch clips on TV.

American leaders must call this out immediately in resounding unison. These are the words of an Un-American President.

This week, Dems need to threaten Congressmen with recall elections. By 2026, Musk & Co. may well have technological election sabotage mechanisms in place. This recall tactic could change a few Congressional votes esp. in light of the mass protests.
