Eric Bauza was a huge talent, but also a sweet, funny dude and amazing ambassador for animation as an art form. So glad we got to work with him. So incredibly sad to lose him so young.

you cannot support JKR in *any* way and also support trans people our right to exist has to be more important than your nostalgic fandom it HAS TO

Welcome to #TransTuesday! Don't know the trouble with JK Rowling? Think she's just said some insensitive things? Or do you just pretend to not know? Well! Now you'll know. You'll KNOW. Send this to every cis person in your life who doesn't get it Here's all the receipts: JK ROWLING, QUEEN TERF

Public executions are wrong for many reasons, not the least of which is that we as a country shouldn’t have to be a party to Pete Hegseth’s latest attempt to get an erection.

The terms I want for David Zaslav’s $606 million payout: he only gets to keep the money if he can survive 24 hours of being hunted by everyone who had a project killed by or was laid off by him.

Cold take for a niche audience: one of my dream projects is to turn the 1995 movie Angus into a Broadway musical, with its Weezer, Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. soundtrack as the score.

If Evil Dead Burn wasn’t part of the Evil Dead franchise and was instead like a stand-alone French horror movie, I’d have been into it more quickly with less reservations. Even still, second best Evil Dead movie of the year, only behind Resident Evil.

I developed multiple TV shows with @beth321cannonball when she was at DreamWorks. She’s a good egg, and her essay about why she left Hollywood and her analysis on what’s gone wrong with the industry is dead on. beth321cannonball.substack.com/p/a-hollywoo...?

beth321cannonball.substack.comA HOLLYWOOD ENDINGTwo years ago, I was called into a small conference room at Sony Pictures with my then boss and told that they would not be renewing my contract, despite what I had been told previously.

Well, this sucks. They are smart execs with taste who actually know and love movies. Here’s to the good films they make wherever they go next. This and all the shit to come is on you, AG Bonta, Gov. Newsom, and every adult in the room who let the greedy shitheads at Skydance get their way.

This is the frustrating thing about Newsom. He puts on a great show of being the progressive hope, but doesn’t do the actual work. Ugh, I’m still going to have to vote for him in 2028, aren’t I?

Things Gavin Newsom has vetoed this week: -A ban on secretly recording people with smart glasses -A ban on ICE agents working for the state government -A ban on websites selling your data -A bill giving native tribes more say over water rights -A bill protecting transgender healthcare providers

Sugar was my introduction to the loud, awesome, and LOUD music of Bob Mould, so their albums have always been my personal favorites of his (sacrilege, I know). Never thought I’d get to see them live, so tonight’s show at the Palladium was a total delight.

Forgotten Island is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. Beautiful, funny, and above all, a POV and culture that hasn’t been seen a thousand times before. To anyone who complains there aren’t enough original stories in cinema, GO SUPPORT THIS MOVIE.

And also some of my fave comic books of the past decade: Mister Miracle by King & Gerards Djeliya by Juni Ba Mobilus by Juni Ba The Forest Hills Bootleg Society by Baker & Goux Spectators by Vaughan and Henrichon (1/2)

Maniac of New York by Kalan & Mutti Local Man by Seeley & Fleecs Nightwing by Taylor & Redondo The Ethan Reckless graphic novels by Brubaker & Phillips Absolute Batman (and all the Absolute comics, really) (2/2)

First 5 favorite albums of the 90s that come to mind: Urge Overkill - Saturation Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville Rancid - And Out Come the Wolves Fountains of Wayne - Utopia Parkway Paul Westerberg - Suicaine Gratifaction

In honor of yesterday’s National Comic Book Day, 10 of my fave comics, in no order. 1. Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire run on Justice League International 2. Hitman 3. Box Office Poison 4. Nocenti/JRJr’s Daredevil 5. Claremont’s X-Men, with all its amazing artists (1/2)

6. Pride of Baghdad 7. Quantum & Woody 8. American Born Chinese 9. Watchmen 10. Waid’s The Flash, with all its amazing artists Already thinking of 10 alts, so better post now. (2/2)

Seeing Robyn live reconfirms my belief that she’s written not only the best pop song of the past 25 years, but also the second best pop song of the past 25 years. She’s a such a delight, mixing open-hearted sincerity with a willingness to be embarrassing. Fantastic show and great dance party.

This show is easily among the happiest (& zaniest) experiences I've ever had doing voiceover. Great scripts. Great cast. Great FUN! Now: Let's... Get... DANGEROUS!!! #DarkwingDuck #DisneyPlus

Celebrate Bisexuality Day is when we proudly exclaim our bi-ness, as opposed to all of those other days when we simply announce it via our mannerisms, outfits, and Carly Rae Jepsen fandom.

Season 4 of The Young Indy Chroniclers begins today with Star Wars Detours Head Writer Brendan Hay in his first interview about the series since its release was announced at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, opening today.

Do I try to push thru Review? I do. Do I succeed? I don’t. Do I still have a blast and love the shows we talk about? I very much do!!!

The Paramount-WB news sucks, but is also a good reminder that the real enemy here is shitty rich people who will do any shitty thing to stay rich, regardless of political party affiliation.

Dark Horse Comics has a bunch of super solid, fun crime/thriller mini-series going right now with Six Of Us, The Big Shakedown, and Witness Point. I’m enjoying all three so far. Check them out!

To ride some coattails, if you enjoyed hearing Matthew Rhys’ natural Welsh accent at the Emmys, check out our series GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI on HBO Max. He plays our big bad and frequently steals the show.
