Ever wondered what the Plus in Big Breakfast Plus means? Well, it means lots of things. And one of those things is fruit! Fresh fruit is delivered twice a week, and guests can take up to 5 pieces away. It’s a small extra, but an important one — something healthy, fresh and refreshing to enjoy.

A big thank you to the team from Suntory, who recently swapped finance for paintbrushes, cleaning and donation sorting! Their volunteering day helped refresh our shared space at The Pilgrim Centre and made a real difference to everyone who uses it. We really appreciate your support!

There was excitement in the Big Breakfast Plus café this week as our new aprons arrived! You might think they're exactly the same as the old ones, and you'd be right. But after lots of busy breakfast services, some of our older aprons had definitely earned a well-deserved retirement.

We're really excited to be taking part in Waitrose & Partners' Community Matters Scheme. You can support us by popping a green token in our box when shopping at Waitrose, Wichelstowe. We'd love to win & receive £1,500, but with three great local charities all benefitting there are no losers here.

We can't believe it's nearly May! The museum has been busy behind the scenes with the overhaul we've started in the gardens, plus a madcap week with @primetheatre.bsky.social and a young Richard Jefferies... but we digress. We are now able to share our full line-up of musicians playing this season:🧵

Every day is differerent...Amazing shift today. 123 plates - Lynn was awesome on the hatch - calm and methodical backed up by brilliant teamwork in the kitchen with Nikki serving 9 takeaways on the side ❤️ front of house was super busy with endless milk and weetabix required Happy guests all round.

A truly outstanding morning from the Saturday team — 133 breakfasts served, a record-breaking effort! Huge credit to the kitchen staff, who worked tirelessly despite feeling under the weather. An incredible team effort all round — absolute legends. Laura Saturday's Team Leader

On Saturday, Janice Bardwell of Bassett Simply Safety delivered Lvl 2 Food Hygiene training to some of our newer team members, alongside staff and volunteers from Swindon Food Collective, Alternative angels, FoodCycle Swindon, Swindon Hub and The Harbour Project. A busy Saturday well spent.

A huge thank you to Emma, Matt and Rhys from Overbury for rolling up their sleeves recently with the Wednesday team. It's inspiring to see more organisations including corporate volunteering in their strategies and supporting their staff to get involved with local groups and charities.
