Paper Quilt, 2026 Waiting to exhibit 7 of these at Providence Hospital in Hood River for months of September - December. Also have one hanging at The Dalles Art Center. Surprised how popular they are, maybe because I call them quilts, not mosaics? #art #quilts #papercraft

It was like reading about my own 15-year travels in Mexico! He covered the same ground and at the same age. But better, of course. He is by far my favorite travel writer, and his son is no slouch! #books #travel #mexico

I’m almost 80. I’m white. After Birmingham and Selma, I thought racist monsters would die out and leave us in peace. But that never happened. And it won’t until we are decent enough TO PASS THE VOTING RIGHTS BILL. Both parties have failed to pass it for 50 miserable years. It’s shameful.

May we also be victorious!

********* Hello my beautiful Blueskiers! The coming weeks and months won’t be easy, but we are here for each other! Thank you in advance for your strength, humor, and support! Let’s do this thing!

A Tough Moment, 2006 #photography #black&white

A nice pull. I am rapidly creating a pile of collage paper that could exceed all the final essays I had to correct in a decade of teaching college. I have started to sort them by color(s)

You never know what you’re going to pull off the gel plate. It could be humble like this one. Or it could take your breath away. Every artist recognizes exactly what uniquely turns them on. What’s fun is to find another artist who gasps at the same results. They might be your teacher.

The smartest, sweetest girls in class! They studied together at a table in the far corner of the library in the after school program, while the other kids pursued happy chaos. #Salinas #elementaryschool #afterschoolprogram #Niñas

Pass it to your right! Should be a PSA on repeat!

Today’s pull. Child’s play! #art #abstract #gelprint

What a fabulous idea! Let’s cover our own streets, parks, schoolyards with beautiful shade!

The riots in France remind me of the call and response riots between Paris and Berkeley during the Vietnam War. “Here’s how you do it.”

When I was a teacher I was overwhelmed with papers in my house. That was nothing compared to the tidal wave of gel printed papers I turn out these days, with little squeaks of delight and surprise at every pull. Second childhood at 8O! #art #abstract #gelprint #gelliprint

I stood on the rim of the buggy wheel And raised my enchanter’s wand With its tip of orange flame, To the gas mantles in their cages, Touching them, one by one, Til the whole countryside bloomed. —Stanley Kunitz #poet #poetry #garden #books #thewildbraid

Oh Lordy! Gelli printing is the messiest and most exciting way to trash your studio, or even your entire house. Closest thing to a childhood without parental supervision. #art #gelprint #gelliprinting

Don’t forget to get out there and march tomorrow!

Odd, how these men of statistics and science are so unfamiliar with the theories of Charles Darwin.
