Hey Bluesky, I'm Bixels. I'm Taiwanese-American character designer, graphic illustrator, and storyboard artist. I draw a lot of sci-fi, historical/Y2K fashion, and fantasy. For the past year, I've also been working on a My Little Pony project redesigning the characters and world as 1920s humans.

"Azure, Paler Than the Sky" FINALLY finished this piece, which I started over a year ago. Juri's 2nd duel is one of my favorite moments in Utena. There are so many gut-wrenching shots that really hit me, so I had to draw them all. This'll be available as a print at Lightbox Expo this year!

For comparison, this was the version I left as a WIP for over a year. Lesson is sometimes you start a piece that's way above your skill level and you gotta come back and finish it later.

I think the new Star Fox designs are great 😭😭😭 I get fans feeling confused and upset and how it can look uncanny, but I’m such a sucker for animalistic anthro designs and good sci-fi costuming, this appeals SPECIFICALLY to me…

This is from an outside observer, but Star Fox always felt like a marriage between Star Wars and sci-fi anime (Spaceship Yamato, Irresponsible Captain Tylor, etc.). And furries. Previous games’ designs leaned on the anime side. I’m fine with the more realistic Star Wars-y look this time.

I've finally deleted Twitter off my phone in an effort to call it quits from the platform. I think today's level of discourse and in-fighting hit a peak. I've stayed on it as a lurker cuz I told myself it still defined mass internet culture. That it's important to stay up-to-date.

But I've slowly realized that the level of hatred and vitriol there is unique to itself. I'm trying to cut it out of my life. Like a tumor. And after all the posts about how Bluesky is cringe and lame, it feels like leaving a friend group of mean kids at school.

Just a bunch of people who've convinced themselves that getting angry is the point. That acting and speaking on your base, trigger-happy instincts and emotions is good for you. That feeling bad is unavoidable, so why not make others feel bad too? I want out.

I think there's untapped rivals to messy lovers potential with these two, seeing how Silver's voicelines reveal that they're BOTH going after the Troubadour. The fact that Silver's only in it for the bounty reward probably pisses Holliday off like nothing else.
