As a dorky bald man with facial hair, maybe avoid trying to sell the dorkiest looking accessory ever created by having the model be a dorky bald man with facial hair.

In the Race for the Dorkiest AR Glasses, Only One Seems Built for Today https://gizmodo.com/snapchat-specs-vs-xreal-aura-2000816976

I LOL whenever I see these stupid new glasses from Snap or FB or whatever. Reminds me of the guys back in the day who thought they were cutting edge by lugging around an early "laptop". Maybe in 5 years the tech will catch up so they don't look so staggeringly dorky, but until then...yikes.

I don't get airbnb. I've stayed in a handful and they have always been more expensive, unpredictable and less reliable than getting a normal hotel. That's not even taking into account the corrosive effect they have on local economies.

Interesting to watch the discourse around the release of GTAVI in November (Grand Theft Auto 6, for non-gamers). It's fascinating to see the scorn the gaming industry (and gamers) get, despite top gamers making 100s of millions, & the industry absolutely destroying every other culture industry.

GTAV is the highest-grossing entertainment product in history - $6 billion sales & another $4 billion in online revenue. The price for GTAVI was announced recently - 2,690 baht ($81) and has a lot of people talking. Some are saying its an outrageous cost for a game, but I happily pre-ordered.

GTAV came out on the PS3 13 years ago (!) and I STILL sometimes throw it on and goof around. If you amortize the cost of GTAVI over that timescale, it's hard do think of a more affordable piece of entertainment. Shit, I pay $80 to take my family for dinner and movie these days. /rant

Totally loving Widows Bay on Apple TV. Extremely quirky mix of comedy and horror; some parts are downright creepy and unnerving, while others – sometimes the very next scene – are laugh out loud funny. Great cast too.

At this point I can't imagine why anyone would use FB as anything other than a distraction while sitting in a doctor's office. An annoying, pointless wasteland, a social network turned into an ad-serving platform. They should change the tagline to "You might even see a post from someone you know!"

Watched The Goonies with my 11yo tonight. It’s an absolute classic in my mind, but he was pretty underwhelmed. I realized that him watching it in 2026 is like me, when The Goonies came out, watching a movie made in 1944.

“This government waiting room is just inches away from hell, I bet I know what everyone would like - Thai soap operas full of screaming fights and rape scenes turned up to 11 through shitty blown-out speakers.”

Really enjoyed both seasons of The Pitt - super intense, well-crafted medical drama, but it's also a depressing indictment of American healthcare and culture as a whole. A few bright souls fighting against a system that's crumbling under its own weight.

"Awww, someone's never been locked in a dog crate and thrown overboard for displeasing the sheik." Happy that 30 Rock is now on Netflix, probably the highest joke-per-minute show in history.

This is pretty funny, but note that it took THREE people to stop the thing, and it was doing a cute dance. Imagine if one came sprinting around the corner with a gun in its hand and its instructions that were less cute.

Doing in my patented form of Bank yoga, which lowers my blood pressure and pulse rate because I know I’m about to have both shoot through the roof.

"Politics aside, hand bidets are a good thing. You should try them... I promise you, you will not be disappointed." I took on the biggest scandal so far of the Zohran Mamdani mayoralty in New York. Yes... Bidet-gate! Watch/share/subscribe: zeteo.com/subscribe

Managed to struggle through the final episodes of Stranger Things. Man, what a slog. 1.5 hours of content spread across like 14 hours of television. Repetitive, boring, derivative, nonsensical, sloppy, pointless.

Visited the historic Sala Chaloem Thani theater today which was built in 1918, closed in 1993, and was recently renovated by the Thai Film Archive. Today they showed a documentary on the Lumiere brothers, who invented cinema technology. Amazing place.

Excommunication has always seemed funny to me. It's like being told you're not allowed into the Faerie Guild or the Tooth Fairy Union.

Stealing this idea immediately. Or have I stolen it already?

I have a private code phrase known to no one but myself that I will use to verify it's really me if I ever meet my past or future self via time travel.

Rewatching Heat. Can’t think of many other movies where every single performance, right down to the single-scene bit players, is so thoroughly riveting and essential to the plot. Masterpiece.

Super cool. Reminds me of the time my Grandma created the "Best Grandson in the World Prize" and - you'll be shocked - I won.

Man, what a slog it was setting up my son's PC vs setting up a Mac. Endless permissions windows, telling countless MS programs to go away over and over again, pointless bloatware, annoying stickers...what a headache. Windows is an OS for masochists and little kids.

I really enjoy Bluesky, even though the Thai-based peeps are super limited. I mostly use it to keep up on world news, but the more I read about the world news, the less I want to know about world news. Yikes.

💯 I love sleeping, but I hate going to bed.

Sure, GI Joe taught us that knowing is half the battle, but they never said the other half is getting a good night’s sleep. We are FUCKED.
