Hi 🦋! I'm bleeptrack and I love generative stuff of all sorts! I create generative art and tools. Also love to experiment a lot with materials and machines: stickers, fabric, pen plotters, CNC milled wood, laser cutting or PCBs! I document my projects on youtube: www.youtube.com/channel/UCyF...

I'm currently experimenting with CSS and SVG filter effects. This one is based on the "Grainy Gradients" tutorial: css-tricks.com/grainy-gradi... The goal is to get a print-dithering like effect. I also added a few more color splots to make it even more organic. #generative #generativeart #css

To get rid of the right part we can just use a better blending mode like multiply. Also if we let the gradient run from 0.4 to 0.7 instead of from 0 to 1 we can stretch the gradient area to the whole shape if we want that.

Problem now is that the contrast and brightness screws with our color if we wanted to have a certain hex value. So far I fix that with a SVG filter, but I find this rater suboptimal. Not sure if there is a nicer way? (and yeah, its called tint-orange but currently tints blue :D)

Now it gets interesting: if we crank up contrast and brightness, we get a small grainy gradient from our noise!

The base is a SVG file defining the noise. This one is created with two feTurbulence tags. It gets then applied as the background of the shape.

Interdisciplinary work is the best feeding ground for imposter syndrome: You haven't been in exhibitions for a few years, are you even a real artist? You have never worked in a software company, are even a real coder? You didn't work at university during your PhD, are you even a real researcher? 🫠

On vacation I got slightly addicted to 아샷추 (ashotchu): fruity, sweet iced tea topped with a shot of espresso.

Am I just too dumb to search or is there really no handwriting detection (or regular ocr that works on handwriting) for the browser (besides maybe TrOCR with onnx)?

I'm happy to consult you on ✨project maxxing✨ I'm a certified expert in - researching for a new project - shopping parts for a new project - romanticizing the work that needs to be done - never doing the work for the project - never finishing a project - stumbling over more great ideas

So Germany's sugar tax will now become a tax on all things that are fun to drink and the extra tax money will not be bound toward spending on the health sector. So why exactly are we introducing that tax again?

Who needs a gallery rail system when you have wood panels with gaps :D Just need different clips to finally show off my #ptpx cards and some photos to come.

Question for folks who also went on a batwalk at #emfcamp : Someone had this cool small bat detector that transformed the sound to an audible pitch. Does someone know which PCB/Project that was?

With my library card I can of course borrow digital books. I can also stream movies! But is there a game rental service? Game Pass but for libraries?

I'm pleased to announce the release of a browser-based tool for viewing, reconstructing, and exporting 3D data from a GelSight Mini tactile sensor. This unusual $500 device connects like a regular webcam, but can be used as a depth-scanning microscope for surface texture: github.com/CreativeInqu...
