I genuinely think a lot of the stuff I see about Avatar Seven Havens is either in bad faith or engagement / rage bait. This show has been very strong pretty much immediately. I think it's the best opening episodes an avatar show has ever had. Obviously they could stink the landing. But still.

Not to say you can't have criticisms of the show or w/e. But the idea it looks so much worse than ATLA or the writing is horrible or inconsistent is just so insane to me. The first moment that red flagged at all for me was ep 4 where a dude gets knocked into a pipe. Nothing has dragged me out tho

Locking twitter was exclusively to reduce this insane amount of input I was getting. There are too many people there for me to respond or effectively formulate my thoughts to them and communicate what I’m trying to do.

I want to be clear about two things regarding my site; 1. It is not vibe coded. My friend who helped is a full stack dev. Just finalizing the UI and features took us 4 months, we started in like February. 2. PokeAPI is not like constantly scraping serebii or bulbapedia or something.

2c. Everything is cross checked multiple times by contributors across various sources because plenty of them have inaccuracies. Serebiis CXD info is really flawed for example so when I crossed it with bulba I had to find a third source (yt videos and my own streams) to see what was right

2d. Our site is doing more than just “displaying an api”. Rag’s put in a lot of work and so did I. Like yeah it’s obviously displaying an API but we have tons of info the API doesn’t explicitly tag.

2a. PokeAPI is basically just a compilation of .csv files people put together with information sourced from anywhere they can get it. Some is bulbapedia, some is serebii, most of the stuff is actually from Veekuns database until gen 7, when they switched to using Kaphotics leaks.

2b. PokeAPI is really no different than a wiki like bulbapedia in my eyes. It’s just a community putting together information in an open source format so others can take it and display in a way they’d like. I contributed to it multiple times by hand writing out info.
