It seems I've corrupted my grandson in his use of the English language. I asked him a question whilst we were making egg salad and his response was 'indeed'!! And yes, he loves to read and is a funny, smart kid.

We went to the state's thrift market in the capital, and our son broke out the push chair as I had a procedure on my knee Friday. It's huge. We got some things, my hubby, son and grandsone pushed me and I am so grateful to them for doing so.

We went to a sweet potato festival tonight that 1) didn't have sweet potatoes and 2) didn't have the advertised food trucks. But we found a thrift store that had push chair for $25, so my poor broken, arthritic knee rode in style!

We have dinner with the kids/grands every 2 weeks. M (dil) makes wonderful food and sends home leftovers that we will freeze. I had to pull her aside to ask her to not make so much, not because her food good, but they bought 14 acres and we're selling our home for the deposit.

Once we pick a builder we'll move in with them and put our stuff in storage. M is 'well that will be a fewish months' and I let her know we have a freezer full of leftovers. I had to explain she's cooking for a family of 4, but we're older and don't eat like the 14 year old. She was fine.

So tonight she made a fabulous meal, and sent us home with a full bag of leftovers!! Some I can eat, some I can make lunch or dinner for hubby. I'm gluten free, so I took a Banza mac and cheese as a side and everyone ate it, a win!!

Hubby and mine birthdays are about a month apart, so the kids sprang for dinner and a glass of wine/beer today. I got what I remembered as a smallish plate of steak tips with mash. Tuesday's dinner is sorted. Good grief, so much food.

So we're petsitting for an elderly toy chihuahua. After sleeping for 5 hours in her heated bed, she turned up her nose at the warm food I made, peed in the dining room and upon waking from a 3 hour nap pooped in the living room. Day one done, lol. Poor little thing, she's getting so frail.

So the kids are taking the grans for a 3 day vacay tomorrow, so we get the grandpuppy. Whose 17, mostly blind, almost completely deaf. I get to spoil the hell out of her until Tuesday. BTW I'm allergic to dogs. Still gonna make her food and spoil her.

Our DIL sent over some chicken noodle soup for the hubby and we had leftover potato soup for so that's dinner sorted. Then our son stopped by and gave us beef/vegetable soup, so tomorrows dinner is sorted.

I married a man with 2 kids. I love them both fiercely. I'm lucky enough to be very close with our son, but just let me say his wife, our beloved DIL, absolutely rocks. Today was chaotic, fun and so much food. Plus she gave me an idea for the grandson; he loved his gift.

Texted our son at 8:48 this morning after loading a cooler( their fridge was too full to store the ham), a huge box and 2 bags of pressies. Returned at 20:23 with 3 bags of pressies and a cooler groaning with leftovers. I'd say that's a success.

We are tyrant free. The 15 year old, 6 pound, nearly deaf/blind Grandpuppy is back with her tribe. Hubby and I loosely meal plan for the week, and thought she'd be fed her food once a day, with kibble on offer all day. Nope, short order cook 2 times a day!

We moved to the south to be with the grandkids. I hate shopping, full disclosure. But due to budget we've ventured to local shops to buy for Christmas. I was browsing stuffies when an arsewipe physically grabbed my arm and demanded why I don't wear makeup.

He stated loudly that I must be a butch gay with my short hair. I could see my hubby throw back his shoulders. I grabbed his little finger and bent it until he let go. I told him my hair is short because that's what gre after chemo.

We moved to the south, following beloved son, DIL, and grandkids. The kids are very much barefooted most of the time. They went on vacation and discovered the trainers bought for grandson, size 8, don't fit. A quick trip to the outlet mall showed he now wears 10.5 shoe; he's 12...yikes.

Our DIL homeschools our grandchildren. When I was purging my book collection in order to not pack 5,000 books while undergoing chemo, I kept all my complications of classic literature. Plus, my dictionaries, encyclopedic dictionaries, and thesaurus.

Why are we robbing today's school kids of the joy of hard bound, paperback, or graphic novel? Thank goodness my wonderful daughter in law is fully on board. And I am down 20 hardback books. I'm so glad he's enjoying them.
