I'd love it if Deacon Frost said "Steals from an unprotected card here (if possible)" rather than front-row. Honestly same with FFF. New Cage is supposed to provide partial protection and against these cards he's providing full protection (Fantomex can work the same - some guys gotta lose to Cage)

The other issue this week will be seeing Luke stop stealing or SK reverse it. As well as players avoiding putting any big cards down early leaving Deacon Frost sometimes played in one lane when another one would have been perfect. Another - no 2-Cost On-Reveal steal to pair with him for t6.

And... is that it? I think maybe that is it. You can sort of work out hybrid decks but the reality is you REALLY want DF to go off so you want 4+ stealers and not much is going to work with 5 cards built around something else. This is a steal deck and you either lean into tech or into afflict

It's sort of set up for a "steal deck" and that would assume some sort of afflict strategy. Maybe compounding steals with Diamondback or Big Scorp. That might work. But just as likely is probably a strategy that just tosses in more stealers and some tech. Some of the stealers are good cards

The steal build around. Assuming he can go off CB will normally be a minimum functional 4/13 and possibly a lot more. Similar to En Sabah Nur, maybe not as strong potentially but more reliable and more targeted. He's a lane winner. What cards steal? V Killmonger, Z Blade, V Enchantress, V Chavez

Where is it now? Filling in the spaces that don't make sense for APM. As a finisher in tech, heavy counter decks mainly. Upcoming synergies : VE works fine with the Avalon season though that's more about getting as many 4-Costs out as possible Doom Doom would love to copy this On-Reveal.

Did it strategically work like we thought? Yes and no and no. Yes, in that she is now your default big card to drop on t6 if that's what you want No, in that she still might not be THE default 6 because APM is still very strong No, in that the meta isn't in a "drop a big 6-Cost" place.

Less Snap content for me for a while because I'm taking an Infection event break. When I am told I HAVE to take part in something, even something with admittedly light impact, I feel like I'm not being respected so I'm taking the only non-participant option left to me - not playing.

It's sort of a neat idea for a card and if she was easier to hit and/or there were a card that you were like "I HAVE to Discard THIS card" there might be something but she isn't and the closest we have to the latter is Khonshu who also needs other cards discarded so he needs to be in a broader deck.

MODOK is probably the most interesting one since ZBC in there works as an extra Discard and then 5 power on the board. Various Moon Girl strategies with things like Wolverine, Proxima, Apoc might find a use for her. Another "mass discarder" alternative is Corvus

FYI - So a while ago they did some text changes to note which cards want to be discard (i.e. do something when discarded) with a keyword of WHEN DISCARDED. However that is imperfect and some cards were left out (or at least one - Muramasa shard) but she WILL hit that card too.

Quick Fortnite Follow-ups. Zombie Blade! Any surprises? Nope. Works like expected and he did slot in some Zombies decks as an alternate (better) t2 play over Zombie Mr. F ZMF is a 2/2 gets you a 3 power Horde. ZB is a 2/3 and likely contributes the same power to a horde AND steals to do it

Zombie Venom! Any surprises? Is already getting buffed one? It might be because the problem really isn't ZV being to weak at +2. But his deck is a slight problem. In a Destroy deck he's generating power but the Horde might pop up in locations where you don't want to Destroy it.

I probably doubted him a bit too much not seeing the value in the skills themselves reliably taking no space. I was too familiar with the spells of Merlin and Chaos Witch which randomly could mess-up things like plays into ZSW. He is more like Clea+ - and Clea was fringy meta herself.

Small-card Venus decks (the Bishop/Angela stuff), Sasquatch Hit-Monkey stuff Need/Should/Wait? NEED. For the WWBN and ZSW decks he's what you wanted Merlin to be. He's also a nice piece in some other small card curve heavy decks. He is NOT a universal 2-drop though, not really...

I've also seen it in decks with Venus but not Zombies or WWBN sort of taking the place of Surge as a curve smoother which makes sense. Though it seems replaceable in these decks Anything real good? Joaquin Torres on t3 makes VK sing. Even on t4 or t5 it's probably good enough
