#rstats #quarto Do you want to use different versions of a figure for HTML, PDF for online vs. print, perhaps an animated GIF for the former, but a static image for the latter? Here's a discussion of this and solutions, github.com/quarto-dev/q...

Excited and grateful that R-Universe is R Consortium's newest top-level project! This means sustained support for @rOpenSci.hachyderm.io.ap.brid.gy's platform for discovery and publishing of #rstats packages. Hats off to @jeroenooms.bsky.social for his leadership! ropensci.org/blog/2024/12...

I now dedicate the first 20+ lines of my user facing functions to argument validation. I cannot emphasize how helpful this is for preventing bugs. Read about r-lib standalone check: josiahparry.com/posts/2024-0... #rstats

agree 100% on this. polars was the main reason I waded back into learning python for day-to-day data manipulation, instead of just turning to it for specific applications (e.g. webscraping)
One of the weitd things about learning Python as an R person is that you're already pretty good at all the cool new data manipulation patterns. labs.quansight.org/blog/datafra...?

The R-universe search engine WebUI now lazy-loads the cards (upon scrolling), such that we can include more results while making the page still load instantly! Have a look, e.g. r-universe.dev/search?q=json

For #rstats folks, sharing this post from @cararthompson.bsky.social on the power of {scales} (a ggplot2 dependency you probably already have) to format more readable numbers (in tables, plots, etc.) www.cararthompson.com/posts/2024-0...
