i may have spoken a little too soon on discouraging Kamala from running for prez, although it would help if i saw her working for Abdul in Detroit. like so many things, Kamala needs to wait for another day. today, do something to help Abdul's campaign.

Abdul El-Sayed. So today is Sunday. Maybe late in the day for you. Getting ready for next week. Okay. Make a plan for tomorrow. Monday, October 26th. Plan to do one little thing to help in this election. A small donation. A social media post to friends. One little thing to help.

I find myself thinking and writing "we need to start thinking about . . ." Trump is certainly doing terrible things and they do need fixed. But I'm an idiot. What we really need to start thinking about is what we can do today, and every day until November 3rd, to elect democrats.

Ten days. Pick one campaign, or two if you have the energy. Do some small thing each day to help. Ten days isn't a long time. Two years is a long time. Can't decide? Help Abdul. His election will be a very big deal for the future of democracy.

What a time for Amy Acton. She has to pivot but faces all the gender prejudice and misogyny we've come to expect from the American voting public. The ad was much worse than people are imagining. Now she has to be Governor, right when the election campaign is at its most intense.

Rep racism/prejudice in MI senate race is sickening and interesting. Who will recognize it? Who will name it? Who accepts it? Who refuses to accept it? With one candidate so far superior to the other. Will it matter? One day we must revisit reconstruction. Today we need to support Abdul.

Trump is an attention magnet. And we all keep getting magnetized. And capitulate to his self image. Look at the renderings of trump, even the mockery. He is an aging, balding, fat, vain bully with dementia and delusions of grandeur. Please show images of this on the news, MS Now.

Abdul is the change agent. You can tell because the old guard aren't helping like they expect to be helped. PAC money too important to them. They secretly want to be Musk's friend. You want change? Help Abdul El-Sayed. He already devotes his life to helping improve health care for all.

Can we, individually and momentarily, stop to consider how to even begin to talk about the issues confronting us - corruption and greed that lead to a complete failure of customer service. We need a dem senate and house. Do something now to support Abdul El-Sayed.

It's time to support Abdul El-Sayed. You say you want change. Here it is. You might think the dem establishment isn't doing all it can - would maybe rather lose the senate than undermine big money politics? Bringing fairness to elections is up to you. Your vote. For a chance at real change.

Think Picture of Dorian Gray. The beautiful face (relatively speaking) is the wanton destruction of East Wing and arming J6 criminals as ICE thugs. The evil hidden part is annihilation of agencies/departments/ commissions that are the government. Hope dems have plan to rebuild govt from scratch.

Why isn't New York redistricting? Why isn't Illinois redistricting? Colorado? Redistricting with an end date and commitment to vote for national anti-gerrymandering law in 2029, if it is possible to draft a ballot measure with these conditions. Will need new dem Senate leadership to happen.

What is the democrats' purpose in the 2026 house and senate elections? Realistically, if a win in house, then what? Senate strategy? Is there one? For what purpose? Now is the time for progressives to form new party. Waiting for 2027 disappointment is too late.

Senate corruption highlight. At the hearing, Whitehouse gets a new name from Epstein file from Bondi. He's great cross examiner but doesn't follow up. Bondi says her new name is a dem donor? This should be co-headline of Bondi hearing, equal to the Bondi political attacks on dems.

I enjoy gloating over Trump's abysmal poll numbers as much as anyone. However, we need to focus on the damage he will do in another 3 1/2 years, even if dems take House and/or Senate in 2026. Poll numbers won't affect the mess we will have to fix in 2029.

Real, urgent question. How do we get more people to show up and protest and get involved? I feel like I mostly see older people (a lot retired), and more women than men. I know it takes time and effort and energy. But we need to try to save our country, our democracy. Ideas?

A Corporation is a fiction. It is a vehicle for doing business, created by law. It is not a person. Did Bill of Rights signatories believe Hudson's Bay Company or Plymouth Company were persons? In 1776, "All men are created equal" was not just philosophy. It was the old in-out in-out.

Finally read Legacy of Ashes. Main topic aside, it made me understand that corporations are fundamentally anti-democracy organizations. Stephanie Ruhle. i like you but your are peddling Kellyanne level alternative facts when wondering why corporations aren't critical of Trump econ policies.

Watched a Roe v. Wade memory. Remember how we thought it would galvanize a political movement? FBI purging reliable worker bees, hiring J6 criminals. ICE with huge budget for secret police, hiring J6 criminals. Political investigations ramping up. We're frogs lounging in ever-warming water.

Article in NYT about Cuomo meeting with business leaders and trying to cut side deals with them and Adams. Cuomo and Adams can claim they are independents, but it isn't true. In terms of our political system, they are democrats, and their scheming is why the dem party is as worthless as the GOP.

I heard someone say on television (msnbc?) that trump administration had already enacted 40% of project 2025. while that can't be accurate for total completion, i can imagine the possibility of at least initial action. Anyone have any idea if this is accurate? Incredible organization if so.

Time for a new Contract With America. Every dem senator, rep, and candidate, together with every dem gov and state legislator and candidate, needs to agree to gerrymander every blue state AND promise that, when elected, will vote immediately and consistently to undo gerrymandering nationally.

The real problems are lack of imagination and laziness. We can't imagine how rotten government will be in 4 years, and how weak America will be. We need focus on a plan to completely rebuild government so it works for people and keeps us safe. This is a big deal. Epstein is momentary diversion.

I appreciate the self satisfaction I get from Trump's Epstein chaos. Politically weakens him. But it is essentially meaningless for the real problem. There is no political force, short of impeachment, that can stop his destruction of our government. Epstein. Think the worst. So what.

We are not going to see a new democracy grow from the wreckage unless the voters are engaged and educated. Consider a typical campaign speech. 45 to 60 minutes of invective. How about two or three 5 minute segments of detailed instruction, and then 30 to 45 minutes of the usual slop.

I'm a big AOC fan. I rank her as the #1 democrat whose message will be received. Reception may be + or -, but it is received. The oligarchy thing was a great start. I'd suggest rethinking Ross Perot. Voters need educated. I wish Harris had taken a Ross Perot approach to tariffs.

Project 2029. I'm assuming we keep the current Constitution, flawed as it is, and try to prove it is a living and evolving document. Trump has shown the power of the Executive Branch. We"ve learned the power of the Legislative by its abdication by Repubs. We've seen the limits of the Judiciary.

Trump's destruction can't be stopped. Maybe the necessary evil we needed to demolish a political system that was compromised from the start. The destruction can't be fixed by patching it up. Democracy needs to be reestablished. I'm calling the 2028 election The Third Founding. Opportunity.

New metaphor. It's all-inclusive. FIXER UPPER. Trump is "demo day." He's destroying the existing rot so it can be rebuilt/reborn. In real life, demo day is a week or two, and the rebuild is 6 to 9 months. Extrapolate for Trump's 4 years. We need our Project 2029. Not campaigning as usual.

Got covid. First time. I'm old and, while active, have been thoughtful about it. But I got careless while traveling. Very little info available. Doc agreed. Still a thing for us 75+ people. Takes me back, but I've sort of felt like 2020 since the election anyway.

I heard a phrase today that was new to me. It isn't new, but just new to me. The Second Founding. It refers to the potential for democracy that was possible due to changes to the constitution after the civil war. I'm choosing to think of November 2028 as the possibility for The Third Founding.

How important is 2026 win for dems? Senate? Schumer lacks guts to block EVERY Trump nominee, so what's the point. House? Investigations will fail worse than first Trump term. All delayed medicare/budget cuts will go into effect, and dems will get some blame. Can dems gain from a win?

Politicians who talk about holding Trump accountable are wasting everyone's time and wasting our opportunity to establish a more perfect union. Their intentions may be good, but they might as well feed their egos by yelling "LOOK AT ME!, LOOK AT ME1"

Trump will never be held ACCOUNTABLE for his corruption and lawlessness. Why? Biden/Garland's age, trust in a failed system, lack of imagination, and basic decency. Forget accountability. The task is to win 2028 trifecta and establish the first real democracy in America.

New thought for me. My obsession (and fellow progressives?) with holding Trump ACCOUNTABLE is just my ego. A waste of time. A distraction. We need to get to work. What dems did to David Hogg is the real problem. We need a solution for our two-party prison.

"Trump is no longer the mastermind... Peter Thiel and his cabal of techno feudalists are calling the shots. This is Peter Thiel's government. He installed his Vice President, JD Vance... he's never really the mastermind that people say he is." @cameronkasky.bsky.social

Dems keep accepting the Trump narrative. Take Waste/Fraud/Abuse (WFA). There's much more WFA in private corporations than the FedGov. Much more. But Dems accept WFA narrative and apologize for it. The Dem party is the party of the fearful and the guilty. Need new party and new narrative.
