I let a patch of evening primrose and beggarstick go wild this year and I'm genuinely delighted by how is constantly full of these little guys. Watching them through the kitchen window keeps dishes entertaining.

Since books are sexy, here's my current reading list. It's gifts from friends and recommendations and me revisiting some childhood reads. Just finished my current fantasy book so time to select a new one.

Having a black cat will gaslight you. Think i see a cat run into my closet. Don't want them in there so I go to hunt it down. Lights on, looking, looking, nothing, just camping gear. "Maybe I just saw things." Hours later she comes slinking out. How?

Sometimes when I'm mowing recognize a native plant coming up and mow around it, creating random little patches of growth in my yard. I've been avoiding this aster for about 3 months now and it finally bloomed after falling over. Worth it.

Normally I don't participate in the "I hated ____ before it was cool," but someone once said I looked like Ed Sheeran and it was probably the most insulting thing anyone has ever said to me, so here's my contribution: I saw one of his videos years ago and it just looked like incel fanfic.

Gorgeous girlfriend gets treated unforgivably bad by gorgeous boyfriend and Ed is there to console her and she finally realizes how amazing the man she "friendzoned" really is and they make sweet love and live happily ever after.

The video was gorgeous girl, with gorgeous boyfriend and Ed. Ed's her friend, but secretly loves her. Guess what? Obviously gorgeous boyfriend is ba. Ed makes her laugh and they have fun together, unlike with gorgeous boyfriend. I never finished the video but my guess...

I learned monarchs will travel pretty far before forming a chrysalis, so you'll never really find them near the milkweed they are eating. This one traveled 8 feet straight up. Impressive for someone who was born on and lived on their food.

Ten seconds of bumblebee Zen. Did you know honey bees kinda suck at pollinating compared to other bees. They're also not native to the Americas. We need to show more love to our native little bumbles and their goofy belly flops on to flowers.

I've been thinking a lot about contracts and oaths and everyone in Game of Thrones knows a lot of these oaths are bullshit but the sword and bowing adds a lot of weight. All I'm saying is we should offer our sword instead of signing an employment contract.

So garden is chaos since I've been gone but my evening primrose is finally blooming. I love them. It's also a host to a wasp that cuts holes in the blooms. What's it doing? I don't know! But it's neat so I'm letting the primrose spread for the wasp and it's little yellow flowers.

Monarch minute. I check in on these guys every morning while I'm getting my coffee. Only two I've found that have reached this size. I'm hoping more of the other ones have survived and are just better at hiding.

Today's monarch minute, Mom laying eggs, another butterfly's kids already eating my swamp milkweed. I'd consider kids if I could do the monarch approach, dump em in a random yard and take off.

I've named the sparrow Thunk because without his tail feathers he doesn't fly great and that's the noise he makes when he lands. He's not completely terrified of me and will land on the chair across from me in our little pavilion and hang out. I love him. Then some bonus pics.

Things I learned as a kid with undiagnosed ADHD, the below (I was in a barrier of churches), and melting ice and snow on the side of the car window made great 2D stages for mental platforming.

i wish i could call this "a tale from my youth" but i don't think i ever really stopped doing it, i think churches just tend to have particularly interesting ceilings/rafters. it was usually this or the hookshot/clawshots from zelda. anyways happy #makeaterriblecomicday #makeaterriblecomicday2026
