Reserved my hotel room for my trip to Austin in February to see Josh Johnson. The Band Camp personality quiz places me in the Fuschia Flames troop. So I got this tank to wear under a 3/4 zip pullover (bought small last year) with jeans. Also got a matching headband. Going for a cute-casual look. 😊

4 pm patient had to cancel. So I got to leave an hour early. Came home & changed clothes, then went out bach and planted & watered the hydrangeas that I dug up from the front yard this weekend. Moved rabbit protection cages from 2 well established roses to protect the hydrangeas.

Not to scale, but a close enough rendition of my front flower bed project that is almost finished. (I have 5 ceramic flower pots with annuals sitting in the gravel arc around the pecan tree.) The pecan tree, daffodils, juniper bush, Japanese maple, & revived shrubs were existing. All else, including

Found a rose I want to add next spring. She’s a “very fragrant,” continuously blooming, climbing rose with sturdy stems for cutting. My plan is to install 4 6’ trellises behind my raised garden bed, and plant 2-4 of these roses there. The goal is for them to help screen from view the big electrical

transformer box that sits in the corner of the yard, behind the raised garden bed. The bed blocks the view of most of the box. But since it’s in a full-sun area, I figure a wall of roses would be beautiful, useful, and fragrant. This rose, Aloha, is a compact, upright grower. Perfect for the need.

@twm1958.bsky.social If you like turkey, you might want to try this (if you haven’t already). I’ve been wanting turkey lately, & picked this up at HellMart to try. It’s vacuum sealed & refrigerated. No preservatives artificial flavors. Can be microwaved or heated stovetop in a skillet.

I chose the stovetop method. In less than 10 minutes it was ready (made Stovetop Stuffing while the turkey was heating). I enjoyed it, as did my senior cat, Allie. She helps me eat my meals. 😂

If anyone likes courtroom dramas, there’s a new show called Cupertino on CBS/Paramount that is really good. It has a bit of an interesting premise, a touch of humor, neat characters.

Worked in the yard as long as my back would let me. Don’t want to overdo it & pay the price! Made so much progress! My next door neighbor will appreciate that the side of the house they see from their kitchen is now weed-free, with new shrubs & pristinely mulched beds. 😂 (The area not yet mulched

has been covered with landscaping fabric. I’ll get more mulch Friday and cover the landscape fabric then. Tossed a bit of gravel on the fabric to keep it from blowing up and out of place.)

The laws of the universe still apply. Been looking for weeks for the cell phone charging power banks that I took on my trip in June. Gave up this morning & ordered a 2-pack of power banks. And, like clockwork, just found the lost power banks while looking for my blood pressure monitor. Never fails.🙄

I swear. Drivers in Oklahoma can make me nuts! It’s like all of them have been taught to leave a car length and a half between cars at stop lights & in drive thru lanes. 😫

Up, dressed, and about to head outside for more work in the front yard. Wearing my knee brace today. And took some preemptive ibuprofen against inflammation. 🪏

Gideon is such a pistol. He has a “fetch” toy that he loves us to throw. Came back to bed from a potty run, and he was in my bed with his toy. I took it to the doorway & threw it down the long center hallway (his favorite throw). I got back into bed. After a couple of fetches with shorter throws, he

came back to bed without his toy. He searched the bed, like he was looking for it. Got off the bed. Came back & searched the bed again. I figured it was a bad throw & got up to look for his toy. That rat had left it on the floor in my doorway, so that when I found it, I could throw it down the hall.

Last week I received a sweater that I had ordered. Got it on sale half off. Loved it so much, while it was still on sale, I ordered it 2 sizes smaller in 2 colors, so I’ll have them to wear next fall/winter. That purchase got me a $10 reward, which I used to get a pajama top for $3. The pj top

purchase got me another $10 reward, which I used to get pajama pants for $9. So a cozy, cute pajama outfit for $12. I’m wearing it now & it feels great after my hard day of yard work.

Did all that I can in the front yard today. Got 2 hydrangeas out to transplant to the backyard. Got 3 large azaleas planted. Pulled edging stones, put gravel in the trenches, reset the stones. Laid landscaping fabric. Moved 15 bags of mulch from the garage to the far side of the yard. Unloaded

all of the bags of mulch. Got some of them opened and emptied out. Pulled a bunch of weeds. Bagged up one lawn bag full of weeds & sticks & 2 hydrangeas that didn’t survive our hellish summer. I’m exhausted! Going to take a shower & chill. 😊

Third azalea in the ground. Pulled up edging stones in preparation of laying landscaping fabric. Inside for lunch & a rest before I tackle cleaning out the bed & laying fabric & mulch.

Two hydrangeas dug up for transplanting. Two azaleas planted. One more to go. If I stay motivated, I’ll lay landscaping fabric and put down rubber mulch in that portion of the flower bed. It would feel really good to have that big chunk of the flower bed done.

It’s 57° outside. But I’m up, dressed, and ready to go out to do some planting. Hoping I’ll be motivated to get some other things done out there once I get going. High will only be 81° today, so it’ll be in the 60s & 70s most of the day.

Got into work before 6 am. Got a lot done early, so I was able to leave around 10:30. Made a trip to the garden center & picked up 3 azaleas and 3 flats of pansies to plant. Tomorrow morning, I’m doing yard stuff! May do a few things later today, after I make a run to the grocery store.

Woke up an hour before my alarm. Came into work early since I have so much to do. Good thing. A main road is closed due to a gas leak. The “work rush” traffic is going to be a nightmare this morning!

The Budapest Memorandum was signed in 1994 giving security assurances to Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and borders in exchange for surrendering 1,900 nuclear warheads to Russia for dismantling. The U.S. pledged to seek United Nations action if Ukraine became the victim of aggression.

I’ve never had great skin. And one downside of losing weight, and losing plumpness in my face, was my skin looking older (IMO). Did a search on skin care routines. Based on the recommendation, I’ve been using a new routine for about 2 weeks. And this morning, when I sat down to do my work makeup, I

swear I can start to see a difference! Here’s what I’m doing: Morning - glycerin based moisturizer (Eucerin Advanced Repair) 5 evenings a week (after shower) - hyaluronic acid serum (Good Molecules brand) 2 evenings a week (after shower) - 1% retinol suspended in plum oil (Good Molecules brand)

Plan for this weekend: 1) Do some work outside clearing the areas where my little greenhouse will go, and where I plan to put a trellis & some climbing roses next spring; 2) Clean portion of the patio where the catio will go; 3) Start assembling the catio.

Well, RFK Jr & his department are doing a bang-up job. My youngest grandgirl may have been exposed to tuberculosis. There is at least one active case identified in her high school. Which means it could be in the community now. Fabulous. 🙄😫

Just found this rose blooming beautifully. It’s a fave of mine, and how I found Heirloom Roses (they’re the only place I’ve found selling them anymore). It’s called French Perfume. My daughter bought one years & years ago for me. Intoxicating fragrance! @jenrobey.bsky.social

Two roses planted. One more to go. Sitting on the patio to rest, I notice an area by my side fence - an area that I’ve always thought of as deep shade - is getting sun. I’m going to set out my light meter tomorrow morning & see if it gets enough sun for that new rose that the Heirloom Roses

Has anyone asked MAGA why, if Trump has made the US energy independent (as he claims), the price of our gas is affected by anything happening in Iran or Russia?
