Like this autumn, 1997 was also a very strong El NiΓ±o pattern. #COwx #Boulderwx #Colorado #snow #denver

FRONT RANGE RAIN/SNOW STORM UPDATE Thu Oct 15, 2026 7:45 AM MDT One final band of wrap-around moisture will bring widespread light rain (high Foothills snow) to the entire Boulder-Denver area this morning before precipitation gradually ends by midday. Then comes freezing temperatures tonight #Cowx

Mid-October snowpack percentages are about useless, but this one brought a smile to our face....3700% 😁 Seriously, though, SW #Colorado has been extremely wet of late. Over the last 30 days, the San Juans have received 5 to 15 inches of precipitation (up to 15 inches!) #COwx #Snowpack #ElNiño

The upper-low is spinning just south of Moab UT right now, producing lots of rain and snow across Colorado. The low will track directly over Denver during the overnight, putting the heaviest swath of precip north along the CO-WY border area. #COwx #Devner #Boulder #weather

RADAR UPDATE πŸ“‘πŸ’¦ Wed Oct 14, 2026 3:00 PM MDT Main wave of showers lifting north through the area now. A steadier light rain will be around for an hour or two. Fog and mist then hang on through the night before another round of steadier rain moves through Thursday AM. #COWX

RADAR UPDATE πŸ“‘πŸ’¦ Tuesday Oct 13, 2026 6:30 PM MDT Scattered showers will be around through the evening, with a couple rumbles of thunder possible. This is just the start. The main event is still planned to be during the day Wednesday through Wednesday night. #COWX #Denver #weather #WaterFromSky

There will be winners that pick up 0.75"+ rain: For sure Larimer County, likely much of Boulder County. Possible parts of Jefferson County. There will be second-class winners (not losers) that see <0.5": Likely the SE Metro area, possibly much of Denver and DIA.

There isn't much support for a complete miss with this storm, but there is some (mainly NAM suite). No concerns at the moment. There are many more models projecting good track for Boulder and an okay track for Denver. Higher-end rainfall totals are more favored than lower right now.

πŸŒ§οΈπŸ”οΈβ„οΈ FRONT RANGE FORECAST UPDATE After months of expanding drought & growing moisture deficits across CO, the storm we've been waiting for is finally here. A slow-moving upper low will tap into deep subtropical moisture and bring widespread rain to the Front Range from Tuesday night into Thursday.

πŸŒ§οΈπŸ”οΈβ„οΈ FRONT RANGE FORECAST UPDATE After months of expanding drought & growing moisture deficits across CO, the storm we've been waiting for is finally here. A slow-moving upper low will tap into deep subtropical moisture and bring widespread rain to the Front Range from Tuesday night into Thursday.

Boulder and Larimer Counties are favored for the highest totals, with many areas approaching or exceeding an inch of rainfall. Meanwhile, the Mountains will see their first significant snowfall of the season, with 6-10"+ possible above treeline and winter travel impacts likely on the passes.

🎁 Eastern Pacific hurricane remnants... the gift that keeps giving to the Southwestern United States! πŸŒ€ Dozens for Flash Flood Warnings were issued over the weekend as the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel passed through after making landfall just south of San Diego. #CAwx #AZwx #UTwx #NVwx #COwx
