Påmelding her: tinyurl.com/mp6n34m
Outlining the characteristics of violent and non-violent right-wing extremism in Norway since the terrorist attack on July 22, 2011, @arjupskas.bsky.social and @jacravn.bsky.social argue that we need a better understanding of where the “battle” is being fought. www.sv.uio.no/c-rex/englis...

New article by @bphaanshuus.bsky.social and Øyvind Bugge Solheim “The community impact of terrorism: The case of the 2022 Pride terrorist attack in Norway”
Although the findings are discouraging, I am happy to share that the article that @oyvindbs.bsky.social and I have written about the consequences of the Pride terrorist attack in Oslo on 25 June 2022 for LGBTIQ+ people in Norway has now been published open access: doi.org/10.1080/1943...
The findings show how the terrorist attack had major negative consequences on all three dimensions measured, not only for those directly affected because they experienced the attack first hand, but also for those indirectly affected through their LGBTIQ+ identity.
We argue that this illustrates a profound negative ‘community impact’ of terrorism, which poses a threat to diversity and to the protection and inclusion of minorities as core liberal democratic values, and should be taken seriously by society and investigated in future terrorism research.

Based on an online survey of Norwegian LGBTIQ+/queer people (total N=906), including people who experienced the attack first hand (N = 127) and others who where not present (N = 777), the study focuses on emotional reactions, behavioral changes, and perceptions of Norwegian society after the attack.

The murder of Tamima Nibras Juhar on Aug 24 is part of a long series of severe far-right & racist attacks in Norway in recent years, writes the RTV team at C-REX in a new blog post. www.sv.uio.no/c-rex/englis...
Today marks three years since the terror attack on the LGBTQ+ community at Oslo Pride. In this op-ed, @bphaanshuus.bsky.social and Øyvind Solheim discuss the lasting negative impact, with many now feeling Norwegian society is less inclusive. #OsloPride#LGBTQ+klassekampen.no/artikkel/202...
