"Musk has positioned the Roadster as a true halo car for Tesla, saying at one point that he’s “not sure it moves the needle massively from a revenue standpoint.” ...like the cybertruck? 😜

Lurked on Twitter a bit after this stunt. Nothing better confirms that the collective IQ of Tech Twitter is hovering around 25 as many gush over this orchestrated, probably-stripped, non-production concept… now pushed back to 2028 (and probably never).

NOT THE DATA CENTER 😱😱😱

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

Uh oh, did someone’s website and personal account experience a big drop in activity after Ukraine hit a Russian data center?

Musk said he thinks his companies would probably figure out how to make something. 😂😂 Guess it doesn't get any more specific than that.

Elon Musk said he thinks his companies would probably “figure out how to make chips better than anyone” given their expertise in creating customized equipment

So we're not just losing our jobs, we are also unemployed! 😮

Deflation doesn't mean recession I looked at the 30 largest economies in the world over the last 30 years, about 900 data points. Within that data set, there were 66 years of deflation. The median RGDP growth rate? 1.65%. Economies grew in 46 of 66 years

Supply shocks, demand spikes, and credit expansion drive inflation. Sustained high nominal corporate profits are a natural result of currency debasement or distorted price signals, not a sudden surge in human "greed."

same. Democracy only functions well when it is embedded in a liberal constitution. And such a constitution is only accepted in a liberal society.

wfrost@wfrost.bsky.social

Yeah I mean its painful to admit, but democracy’s track record for the past 30 years is not great. I’m far more concerned about the death of big L Liberalism than I am worried about democracy per se

JUST IN 🚨: U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield rips to 4.9% for the first time since 2023 📈 📈

So am I getting it right, it is not QE, it is literally government buying long term debt with short term debt? And maybe as a follow up question: How stupid can it get?

The "Investing" they moved away from was i guess Crypto 💯

Barchart@barchart.com

More than half of Gen Z (age 14-29) have moved money away from investing and towards sports gambling 🤦‍♂️🤯👀

At the risk of stating the obvious; we can't just send NFTs of oil across the internet to pass the Strait of Hormuz, right?

Given the rate of new debt, is more like 2.5 years.

U.S. Dollar could lose its reserve currency status within 25 years, warns Jamie Dimon 🚨 🚨

Prices have a signaling function. Rising prices can be a good signal; high demand, consumer confidence, full order books, production capacity, etc. However, monetary policy-induced price increases, and thus the disruption of price's signaling function, are always bad. Always.

So ärgerlich, wenn inflation zu niedrig ist...

If everything can be a weapon, then perhaps society as a whole is sick. [without wanting to get into a "freedom vs. security" debate.]

a person driving a modern car can effortlessly, even accidentally, produce enough force to obliterate a crowd of people or substantially destroy a normally-constructed building. "oh that's none of your business", fuck off with that. it's everybody's business.

People who think the communist Chinese regime is incapable of..

Ty 💀@tys.work

Weird, Googling shows no evidence that has ever happened. Are you making stuff up to scare yourself?

Let's simply ignore high inflation, national debt, moral hazard in investment decisions, as well as resource over consumption due to scewed incentives... etc etc

Brandgut@brandgut.org

Sure, if you measure economic success by fiscal overspend, low financial diligence, reckless investment strategies, and zero interest (as a whole), then yes, fiscal largesse, loose financial conditions, booming business investments and zero interest are all stoking the economic.. 🌝
