My heart goes out to the sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. During Operation Desert Storm, I had a number of sailors write and join the BAAA, saying I was sort of a mascot—a bit of comfort while they were deployed. I'm still thinking of you! Things will get better!

Actually topped out at 112°F. When I worked at #LakeMead, we had handouts listing the ground temps compared to air temps for different surfaces to bring awareness to help pets. I think I need a yard sign.

I just saw someone walking their dog, and I could tell it was hurting. I wanted to go full Karen on them. Wish I had.

Had a very tasty cobb salad lunch at the senior center. That seems so weird to say, but yes—Brandy Alexandre goes to the senior center. Haven't started the line dancing or anything yet. LOL! Just the gym and free lunch.

The weather gods smiled upon me today, and covered the scorching sun, and sprinkled a little moisture, so I could enjoy a 3.5 mile walk at 6:30 this morning in *only* 80 degrees for my birthday. I might be able to do it all weekend.

On my fitness journey the last couple of years, I haven't had alcohol. I just bought my old vodka to make vanilla extract, and couldn't resist doing a shot. While I still love the flavor, it hit fast and hard, and I gulped some Rockstar and ate a fried chicken wing trying to get rid of it. LOL!

I think my cactus is giving me the finger. Actually, I'm glad to see the new growth. I found it uprooted, shriveled and desperate at the side of a bike trail. I tried to bring it home, but got spiked. I went back up with a box to bring it home and see if I could save it. That was November.

Yes, I bought Think!—a luxury even though my finances are grim—but they were on sale! (Famous last words.) I mean, $5.99 is CHEAP for a box of 5. At least I only bought 2 boxes. And now I know the universe is not mad at me for doing it—one of the boxes had 6 bars in it. Score! 😁
