Btw, the fact that I'm one of the only people talking about this, when Twitter has tons of posts dedicated to it. Yikes.

The recent fire at Central Station needs urgent questions asked and the government properly investigating this. I need to understand as a member of the public, seemingly how I seen a fire kicking off in a shop that looked as if it was under control by the emergency services ...

This is one of the UKs most busiest railstations. My understanding is those shops are let by network rail. There's a lot of questions to be asked here. And I'm afraid the answers are going to be monumentally worrying. I just don't understand how this happened.

Also the BBC are quoted as saying "Crowds gasped as the dome at the highest point of the building was engulfed by flames and came crashing to the ground " I was watching. They didn't gasp. The crowd sounded a lot like it cheered. It was sickening. Watching your own city burn and laughing.

To then going on social media 3 hours later, seeing it wasn't under control, and most of the building was destroyed, to watching a livestream over 2 hours of what I can only describe as 2-3 firemen tackling the blaze the best they could.

So I vibe coded an entire app in Swift this weekend. It has been nothing short of extremely insightful. Just a few thoughts on AI currently in software. There are so many bugs dude. Like so many edge cases, so many things not considered. It's worrying.

I've got it sorting media for me. Works fine on the 5 images it tests with, what about my phone lib of over 10k? Well it was like "Oh yeah this solution probably won't work, let's load it all into UserPreferences" USER PREFERENCES? THE ONE WITH THE LIMIT?

Forced it to use SwiftData instead. Works a dream. This I think is the difference between "slop" and something I can say I'm proud to actually release. It's something I would use. I am using it.

I'm using the xCode implementation so maybe this is better in other systems. But I'm evaulating what Apple is giving me. Secondly is how much handholding it needs by me to do stuff. There's no shot you could build this if you aren't a SWE. No way. You need to understand fundamentals.

You need to understand what's going on behind the scenes in software. You need to have intuition in optimizing software. You have to have fallen into these traps yourself via coding to know what to look for. It's absolutely junior tier code that needs eval.

For years people on the left have argued that "doing the right thing" despite the constitution, such as major gun reforms or curtailing of racism was denied by the right as a step too far. But wars? Throwing missiles at middle easterners without Congressional approval? That's perfectly OK!

It's incredibly frustrating that the party of gun rights, and overthrowing a tyrannical government, is actually the ones most keen on keeping that very government in power, as it benefits them. I mean, we all seen this kind of scenario coming.

And I doubt this has to be said. Yes I am pro fucking up the current Iranian government. I don't like them. Boo Iran. I am not pro doing that if Kier Starmer himself went on an aircraft carrier and took it for a joyride round for a laugh.

I dunno what to make of this. I use three different platforms. Bunny.net, Namecheap and Hetzner for my hosting, CDN, and DNS. All three of them, as of speaking are producing the same error messages when using them. API errors when navigating. And it's such a weird coincidence...

bunny.netbunny.net - The Global Edge Platform that truly HopsHop on bunny.net and speed up your web presence with the next-generation Content Delivery Service (CDN), Edge Storage, and Optimization Services at any scale.

Normally, if you run around on sites without certain headers they can freak out, but I've nothing like that enabled. It just seems to be really weird timing that all three of these platforms are producing errors, doing the same actions. Despite still working fine behind the scenes. How odd!

I've always said that to some effect, politicians really shouldn't be able to turn off replies / quote replies. Just doesn't feel right that they can, unopposed send whatever message they want out, and have 0 pushback or response.

Tech Social Media: Software Engineering is dead, everyones going to become a farmer. Reality: It can't even tell me what PHP version is released without going into a 3 minute thinking loop and aborting due to a gen failure.

Anyone else seen those videos of kids apparently breaking into New York trains and just driving them around? Seems absolutely wild it isn't larger news. Unless I'm being completely trolled?

There's some people on X, in extremely senior positions, arguing that because you can jailbreak ChatGPT, put a picture in there, undress them and have it privately. It's the same as Grok doing it in the main fucking image thread of the victim, publically. Idiots.

Wondering if Facebook is having issues somehow? 4 days ago my account was logged in from India The problem is, it's using a pretty semi hidden email that I don't use everywhere, with a completely random password that I've got in my password manager. Like, maybe a false notification?

Alright, new hatred. Using a certain identity provider like Google and having no way to easily change it as a user. Trying to cancel my google workspace and it's proving very stupid going with a third party for SSO for all my accounts.

I realize the #cloudflare outage is really annoying and probably a big deal. But I also think the world needs to step back a bit, and calm the ever loving fuck down. The reactions we're seeing to genuinely, not important websites going down is unhinged.

And I believe it's entirely because as a society we're being driven so hard man. Like, 24/7 push, grind, push, build, make money, business, do this, do that. So something goes offline - for about 20 minutes, and the collective world starts measuring GDP impact. Fuck off.

Might be an interesting one, not sure how far I want to dig, was talking to another lad on one of those CityFibre alt nets Olilo and we made the discovery that it looks like those alt nets all seem to be running the same latency riddled equipment that other big players aren't.

This has directly led to me being on about 14-18MS of Latency in my entire CityFibre experience, when quizzing my brother who's on TalkTalk he's getting around 4-6ms. A reduction in magnitudes. What's really weird is nobody is talking about this, or has seemingly noticed it.

Does anyone use multiple accounts with google services? It is actually one of the WORST experiences known to man, you will be doing anything and it will just flip you back to the one you originally signed into 7 months ago without any explanation.

I'm trying to add a new domain to my workspace. I don't use this account all the time, I have my own personal one, when I get to the screen to add the domain as a secondary domain, I get an access denied message because it's tried to add it as my personal account (?!??!?)

And this happens SOOOOOO often with analytics and those products. You'll add a domain to Webmaster or Analytics and before you know it you're wondering where it went because it's flipped you over without even saying
