Just wanted to provide some clarification! As for right now, I'll still be streaming under "Brawlcats" as I make preparations for the debut of my vtuber streams. I'm currently in a pretty busy place at college at the moment, so I'll need some time to work on layouts and graphics.

Honestly I’d probably miss it more if it didn’t stop getting new content 3 years ago. It makes me wonder if they planned a set amount of stuff to make for the game, or if they based content updates on profitability. How much money would it have required for them to keep the game up today?

Orbs has gotta be one of the stupidest things Discord has rolled out, on THEIR end specifically. Why would I ever spend actual money on Nitro when I can just put on an ad and not have to actively pay attention to it? Like I literally put them on while I’m playing a video game or watching YouTube

Pressing some menu options isn’t “paying with my time” either. Discord is a messaging platform, I think I can wait like 3 minutes before responding to someone If anyone were to give Discord money I’d rather it be these big corporations circlejerking each other until they’re out of cash

In music school I really had to fight to explain why the chiptune I made was worth doing. Lots of colleges are really focused on that academic ideal of artistry. That said, I think it's for the best- if it just focused on profitability it would be misery. But I wish they took media more seriously

As I’ve started my senior year of art college, I can’t help but ask myself why there’s such a considerable difference between what institutions want students to create compared to, say, what I see on the internet or in technology-based industries

We never even scratch the surface with other forms of media either, like animated shows and films. It makes me wonder if an institution wants its alumni to stray from these industries due to their commercial roots. Does the monetary value of a piece of media reduce its artistic value?

Half of me considers all of this and reduces it to “at MY dream school we’d eat pizza and play video games all day” but the other half genuinely does think there is some value in discussing these mediums, if even only briefly since these are avenues artists should consider pursuing for income

I feel like a lot of it stems from gathering “meaning” from a piece of artwork, but honestly, that part in of itself is hard for me to grasp at times. Is a quality watercolor print of an Animal Crossing character not “art” because there can be no meaning drawn from it other than “it looks cute”?

I almost feel as though video games themselves are fairly taboo topics in my classes. We once saw a piece in a lecture that was an edited Super Mario Bros. ROM that removed everything but the sky and clouds projected onto the gallery walls. Anything regarding the substance of video games is brushed
