I enjoy being an agent of chaos.
I like being an uncle for the holidays because: Mom and dad are responsible, and will discipline you. Grandpa and Grandma are indulgent, and will coddle you. But the uncle... the uncle is unpredictable. The niece and nephew cannot know what the uncle will do, because the soul of the uncle is CHAOS
I think Pritzker is exactly right, here. It’s all about the 2026 elections. Keep your eyes on this space.
Saw Eddie Izzard’s Hamlet last night at Seattle Rep…this is something you will not want to miss. Though Hamlet is a true tragedy, Eddie brings her unique sensibilities and some serious acting chops. Highly recommend!
Every one of them must be primaried out. Thanks to my senators for doing the right thing. @murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov
BREAKING: The Continuing Resolution cloture motion has passed 62-38, advancing the CR to a final vote. These are the Democrats who voted to invoke cloture:
Another great idea for bringing back some of Seattle’s tree canopy. I lived near and walked by the 17th & Republican corner for about 12 years. It was always my favorite part of the neighborhood. Along with the corner at the north of the block, which closes off a east/west road to make a small park.
Let’s build giant tree circles in every Seattle neighborhood www.seattlebikeblog.com/2025/02/25/l... #Seattle #SEAbikes
Seattle, this is the way! My neighborhood, Mid-Beacon Hill, has a stunning lack of tree canopy. This could all happen on publicly-owned land…cheap, simple, a no-brainer. In addition to the environmental benefits, just try and imagine what the city would look like in 20 years!
Seattle could meet its 30% tree canopy goal much quicker by converting a quarter of its 500,000 on-street parking spaces. The paving-to-planting conversion would convey many benefits, cooling neighborhoods and absorbing runoff. Op-ed: www.theurbanist.org/2025/02/22/o...
Couldn’t agree more. At every turn, democrats must ask WWMMD?
“The easy way to think about this is when you’re going and talking to your Democratic senator, you say ‘hey, imagine you are Mitch McConnell in the minority, and then do what that asshole would do.’” - @ezralevin.bsky.social Senate Democrats aren’t powerless: indivisible.org/resource/how...
Reading list, February: The Sirens’ Call by @chrislhayes.bsky.social Started this last week and it is fascinating. Highly recommend for the time we’re living through. Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. This will be my 3rd Butler book. Looks as if this book may have been more than prescient.
You are up to date.
