With a little creativity and some help from AI, any teacher can make their multilingual learners feel welcome and part of the classroom. @brentgwarner.com
Back online. Someone installed a malicious redirect, so this is why we can't have nice things 😣 I'm installing a few protective measures, so hopefully it doesn't interfere too much with how useful Edushare.ing is. Please let me know if you have problems with it!
Hi All, I've been notified that edushare.ing is down. I got flagged for "abuse" - so either there was some sort of bot attack, or the other redirect programs that are pushing ads into your free teacher resources are mad at me. Likely the first one, but regardless, I'm working on it.

I have absolutely no memory of making this soundboard a few years ago, but it was clearly to help ss identify car sounds and talk to the mechanic. Still, I found it and it's making me laugh - feel free to use it if you need some levity or to use it with your class: docs.google.com/presentation...

I built a free URL shortener for teachers bc we don't need ads when we're just trying to help each other out Edushare.ing No redirecting to ads, no stealing your traffic, no registration or log-in, no charge I hope you find it useful. Please share with teachers freely #TeachersHelpingTeachers
We took a couple of months off for a couple of reasons, but @ixypixy.bsky.social and I are back and we shifted gears a bit to address the moment and share some advice on how to cope and how to not give up on our community, even amidst chaos. DIESOL.org/115 #EduSky #TESOL #ELL #MLL #ELT
Heads up that @bitlyofficial.bsky.social is going to start sliding advertisements into your links. Teachers, keep an eye out as you'll likely have no control over who those advertisers are. Looking at the state of online ads these days though, it's probably not something you'd endorse. 😩

Here's a fun little discovery: People like you more when you text in properly written blocks rather than one line at a time. Go figure. www.ab-lab.org/texting-line...

Did you see this experiment my colleague Kristina conducted not just at my university but *in my department*? She and the male instructor assumed eachothers’ names for an online course: and the difference in feedback they received was horrifying.
I had this happen once at my school. For a sense of how long it took to clear, just remember 2 things: Professors cannot let insignificant problems float by, and we are completely incapable of using an option other than reply-all.
A student somehow accidentally emailed the entire NYU faculty and the reply-all carnage is like a freeway pile-up
Catching up on hearing my man @edcamposjr.bsky.social ask whether the goal with AI is to do more, or to do better? "Connect to the breath, connect to the body, be present" Thanks to @ditchthattextbook.com for hosting this conversation in the 2024 #DitchSummit
As much as I love @bitwarden.bsky.social, the new design choices are really poorly thought through. Worst of all is the "fill" is now a teensy tinsy little button rather than the full (and obvious) card that filled the drop-down. Super annoying to work with now, esp when it used to be so smooth.
This could be an engaging ice-breaker for a conversation class: insurify.com/car-insuranc...
A4) It’s ok to be where you are, love it or hate it. Slow and respectful conversations about how AI is everywhere, so let’s consider whether outright rejection serves students best for the world they’re stepping into. #EduSkyAI
Q4: What would you say to someone having strong feelings about AI in edu? How can we help our colleagues adapt? #EduSkyAI
A3) As with most tech, I love sharing with students so they can take over their own learning over time. I think there’s a LOT of potential here if we teach Ss critical thinking and metacognative skills #EduSkyAI
Q3: Lots of teachers are excited about AI in education. What excites you most about AI in edu? #EduSkyAI
