#BlueJackets #CBJ for The Columbus Dispatch, bhedger@dispatch.com ... I take your question.

Christiansen off for interference on Zegras in the LW corner of the #CBJ defensive zone. The Flyers keep kicking at the door, now going to the power play still down 3-1 midway through the third.

#CBJ analyst Jody Shelley with spot-on analysis when the Flyers started dominating after their goal. The Blue Jackets stopped trying to make plays and resorted to simply flipping pucks out of their zone, giving it right back to Philly for a re-load and re-entry for another offensive push.

#CBJ very fortunate to get out of that second period with a 3-1 lead after the Flyers scored with 10:01 left and proceeded to feed it to the Blue Jackets for all but the final shift. Talbot made two or three huge stops to preserve the two-goal lead.

That's a fantastic save by Vladar ... but that's the play right there that is killing the #CBJ this season. They need Nishushkin to bury that one. They just do. It remains 3-1 Blue Jackets late in the second.

#CBJ second period meltdown signs all over the place here. They still lead 3-1 but the Flyer nearly pulled within 3-2 there on Michkov's redirect off the right post. Jackets must figure out how to turn the tide back their way in the second half of the middle period.

That Knies-Coyle-Olivier line is a handful when they get the puck deep and get their forechecking cranked up. That's three big boys causing all kinds of havoc when that happens. #CBJ

The first period belonged to the #CBJ as one of their most impressive periods of the young season. They also lead 3-0, so we know what that means. Philly will either come flying back onto the ice after getting their faces chewed off by Tocchet or they'll fold. Bet on the former.

Interesting little subplot is Fantilli vs Flyers, the team that offer-sheeted Leo Carlsson for an eye-popping sum while saying they need a top-flight young No. 1 C. Fantilli was selected one pick later in the same draft, had the same stats, no Flyers offer sheet after Anaheim matched. #CBJ

Johnson scoring the second goal, from Werenski and Nichushkin, gives him 1-1-2 and a multipoint game already to help the #CBJ build a quick 3-0 lead there in Philly.

#CBJ D Dante Fabbro will be a game time decision tonight in Philly, but the expectation is that he'll make his season debut following an upper-body injury.

Wessam Abou Ali (ACL) also going through rehab work on one of the practice pitches at OhioHealth Performance Center. Great to see. Wait until #Crew96 is able to put him out there with Santi Rodriguez, Brais Mendez and other playmakers.

#CBJ will reassess Dante Fabbro on Tuesday in Philly to see if he's ready to go. By all accounts after today's practice, he is ... but they'll make sure Tuesday. Good news is that he's on the trip and very close to playing. Provorov skating w/t team now also encouraging.

Midway through special teams practice, they’ve flip-flopped Werenski and Mateychuk as PP point guys, so Werenski now with PP2 and Mateychuk QB for PP1. We’ll see if that sticks tomorrow in Philly. #CBJ

#CBJ practice lines/D: Nichushkin-Fantilli-Johnson Knies-Coyle-Olivier Monahan-Sillinger-Garland Lomberg-Del Bel-Heinen Werenski-Severson Christiansen-Mateychuk Fabbro-Gudbranson Extras: Voronkov, Soucy, Andrae, Provorov (IR) Greaves in home starter’s net, Talbot in visiting starter’s net.

Holy moly, it remains 0-0 and we're going to a shootout to determine this one. St. Louis' defending is no joke. Neither is the Crew's possession game. #Crew96

St. Louis keeper Roman Bürki collided with #Crew96 winger Anass Zaroury challenging the ball neat the left post and stayed down. They've brought a stretcher out. We'll see if he needs it.

OK, who's ready for some Cup footy in Columbus? St. Louisans have traveled here in droves and occupy most of the East end zone seating section. Nordeke's packed on the West end. Everything else is ... well, I don't think we're going to have a packed house but they're still filing in. #Crew96

Marchenko didn't see a lot of support in warmups, but gave a signed puck to a fan who said, "I miss you." "It’s a great memory for me and I miss those guys too. I want to make some kids happy, too. If I can give the puck or something, I will do it for sure ... especially here.” #CBJ

Does Marchenko understand why there are hard feelings? "Of course, I can understand it, but it’s my work. I came here to play the game, play my game, and take two points for our team, and it’s my first goal [back here, and it’s a little different for sure, but I try not to focus on that." 1/2
