Having a lovely “in her out and about” queer day in Tāmaki Makaurau, from a dykes & hikes up north somewhere (I dunno 🤷♀️, I’m a passenger princess), then a bsky crossover at @bumblebigirl.bsky.social’s debut book lunch, onto Sapphic Sounds Halloween till I Cinderella gay home at midnight 🕛
Setup, tease, reveal is for burlesque classes not politics.
None of these Labour policies warranted the secrecy and delay that they were given That dance of the seven veils watched Labour’s polling slide from mid 30s and now they look like a similar result to 2023 Should have gone out early and hard with confidence Only my opinion but yes I am grumpy
Ya girl finally got around to it (read; got the correct dosage of her adhd meds) and setup her email, bluesky handle and a new website as @briar.gay at briar.gay cause I'm briar and I'm pretty gay as in a butch lesbian.
Why did you transition? Right answers only. There’s several overlapping correct answers to this. The final push came from going to a Pride ”Queers and Wares” market in 2021, feeling like I belonged; and then friends bumping into me and gifting me a set of stickers, cause “it could be your vibe”
Why did you transition? Right answers only i visited a friend's hotel room, drank red wine, rambled about some gender feelings for a bit, and my friend turned to me and said "So why haven't you done something about it?"
Fawn was literally on my first draft list of chosen names. If I was socialised into anything, it was literally the fawn response. One of the reasons I’m not Fawn, I am Briar is that I wanted to imply that I have edges; I have thorns and if you grab me we will both come away hurt in the process.
What’s your sandpaper grit level these days? This trans butch is about an 80 grit; I’m great for preparing new wood or metal for painting, but hold back my abrasiveness in public so I’m not stripping paint everywhere I go.
If you’re a gender nonconforming woman and not doing a complex “I’m so soft and cuddly and sweet and will do everything you ask” song and dance routine 24/7 you *will* be experienced as abrasive by a lot of people. There’s really no way around it.
Honestly there’s gender and butch sex in this guide to sandpaper from Bunnings — www.bunnings.co.nz/diy-advice/d... — True grit, rough and ready, shape up, sand and deliver.
I rock up to the ”Briarwoods” as Briar, but it starts a 200-post intercede discourse thread about whether briar first names can ”Briar Wood” or we gotta full send the double-breasted ”Briar Briarwood”
trans people who also give themselves surnames but they're made up to represent membership of some kind of philosophical house or circle of trans people who share a subculture and outlook on transness
Today’s warm and cozy fit bought to you by @silkehartung.bsky.social ‘s cat ear beanie and a jacket from tattys on high street.
Cat ear beanies added to the website, or at least some of them. More coming, but the colour turned out wonky in some of the photos - instead of being purple and blue, they'll just look blue - that sort of thing! pocomoto.co.nz/product/cat-...
