Basically, it seems like even if you accept all of the pro gen AI arguments about productivity, you think gen AI will improve, and you ignore ethics (do not do these things), it seems optimal to keep doing the thing (e.g., programming) as long as you possibly can

A good rule of thumb is like, if you're even /worried/ about doing it wrong, you're probably going to be fine. If you even care in the first place, you're probably going to be fine. Go look at some irl trans porn, study some bodies, lurk in some forums, talk to a trans friend and you'll be fine.

How does Cheese Paper differ from similar projects? Scrivener: it has less features, better handling of sync, files you can edit on their own Manuskript: it has live syncing, less plotting features, simpler format Obsidian: it has notes and text in the same document, more writing focused

Cheese Paper has taken up a significant portion of my free time for the past year and a half (oops) This wasn't a solo project. Special thanks to @akka-vodol.bsky.social, who made significant contributions to the codebase directly (more than 100 commits!), and helped a lot with early rust design

I wish that people, especially those who dislike AI, wouldn't blindly repeat claims from AI companies about what is legal When a company claims that they can bypass all copyright concerns by doing something with AI, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's true

If you don't trust the AI companies when they make claims about the productivity, cost, or impact of AI, you shouldn't magically start trusting them when they say the word "copyright"

These claims are legally untested, absolutely nobody knows exactly how things are going to end up long term. Is XYZ legal currently? I don't know, the company doesn't know, and lawyers don't know. AI companies would like for everyone to think that it's all legal, but that doesn't mean it's true
