I’ve been living without income for a whole year after quitting my corporate job to start my company. Saving money is more important to me now than ever. I just got my first prescription from @costplusdrugs.com for $25. Last time it cost me $85, with insurance. Works as advertised! 😇👍😀 TY!

Scholars say discipline is a personality trait that only some people have and that’s why they’re better than the rest of us… As if! 😜 Don’t be fooled by anyone’s malarkey today. #personalfinance

Many young *men* have too much in crypto relative to cash savings. Many young *women* have too much in cash savings relative to investments. We should be talking more about both of these problems.

Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings If one party pushes that number higher. They vote for em. Gensler/Biden caused those savings to go down. The demo with the biggest change was young men

And I don’t think young men are finding bank accounts too expensive. I think they believe masculinity requires risk taking. You don’t want to be the sucker who missed out on huge returns because he was chicken (a female bird).

We’re listening to the wrong part of behavioral science when it comes to money. Big goals are either motivating or discouraging, depending on your perspective. Small goals get things done. Let’s break it down. #personalfinance #buildinpublic

If you’re on FIRE (so to speak), what percent of your monthly income are you saving? We created a FIRE setting in our app with a 60% savings rate, but I’m curious what people out there are doing. Thanks! 🔥 #personalfinance #buildinpublic brightfin.io/503020calcul...

Your annual reminder that Dr. King believed in guaranteed universal basic income that gave all people a dignified life, guaranteed housing for all, guaranteed access to a high quality education, and said that “no one should be forced to live in poverty while others live in luxury.”

Emotional goodbyes are happening all over TikTok right now. It’s hard to imagine anything else, especially something called a “platform,” inspiring such a large and diverse population to collective mourning. #tiktok #socialmedia

So we can’t even agree on how to eat now?? Ordering delivery is convenient but expensive. Meal prep is arduous but cheap. I’ll take neither, tysm. Are there any other crazy people buying groceries and then just eating them?

“It’s so FAST,” said my sister after using my simple budget app. She is 37. “It’s not hard, it’s easy. Kind of like a video game!” said my niece. She is 6. I should hire these people. #personalfinance #buildinpublic

It’s so weird that we think gyms are for people who are physically fit and budgets are for people whose finances are in shambles. How do people get healthy, physically or financially? Practice. Budgets are for everyone.

Thrift and underconsumption are trending, perhaps in reaction to the excesses Pres. Carter warned us about. Are people now more open to messages like this? “We’ve discovered that owning things and consuming things does not satisfy our longing for meaning.” www.nytimes.com/2024/12/29/y...

nytimes.comJimmy Carter Was Right About Materialism but, Alas, Wrong About Us (Gift Article)“Too many of us now tend to worship self-indulgence and consumption,” he said in his 1979 “Crisis of Confidence” speech. If only we had listened.

The 50 30 20 Rule is a balanced formula for monthly spending first proposed in a book titled “All Your Worth.” As the book turns 20, does its author @warren.senate.gov still think 50 30 20 is the right breakdown? If not, we have some alternatives. brightfin.io/bright-blog/...
