I drove carriages in Interlaken 1 summer. The horses were treated poorly. A few drivers from Ireland and I were appalled by the conditions and did the best we could to care for the horses. After the summer, they became pack-horses for the military. Thank you, Mayor Mamdami.

Lots of folks are comparing McConnell’s vote today to Feinstein’s finals days in the senate. The main difference is that Feinstein was co-sponsoring legislation to expand voting rights, while McConnell voted to cut SNAP and end environmental protections.

Mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg refused to tell the public the deadly truth about the toxic environment caused by 9/11. How many lives could have been saved if they had told the truth? Another terrible lesson in the need for honest leadership. open.substack.com/pub/america/...

Medicaid is vastly misunderstood. Much of it goes to hospitals, kept afloat by it. Most importantly, nearly 2/3 of residence of nursing homes in America are there because of Medicaid. The huge cuts taking effect next year will cause hospital closings and mayhem for seniors.

tRump’s DHS is pushing a border wall through Tohono O’odham Nation land without the tribe’s consent. Sacred sites, communities, and sovereignty treated as obstacles. Another clear signal that tribal rights only matter until they get in the way of tRump’s agenda. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

@stephaniemiller.bsky.social Regarding JoJo's story, decades ago, I was working on "The People's Choice Award" on the Desilu lot (closed set). A few of the crew's children were asking for autographs. Only one refused. Yes, Luke Duke ("Dukes of Hazzard") himself in our set production office.

BREAKING: An appeals court rejected the Trump administration's bid to re-detain Dr. Badar Khan Suri, a Georgetown peace scholar who ICE arrested and sent to Texas for his speech in support of Palestinian rights. This makes it clear: The government can't weaponize immigration law to silence dissent.

Former Federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner joined me to make it clear: "A vote for Todd Blanche is a vote in favor of the Epstein perpetrators. A vote against Todd Blanche is a vote in favor of Epstein's survivors. Period.” Glenn added that Blanche should be disbarred! youtu.be/BUuhquuxxzU?...

He fell asleep in a meeting with Turkish President Erdogan, referred to Iran as the "Islamic Republic of Japan", TikTok as "Tic Tac", President Zelensky as "President Putin" & once again demanded the U.S. be given control of Greenland. He's much less dangerous while sleeping than when he's awake. 💤

U.S. military spending could soon hit a record $1.5 trillion. Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that have routinely price-gouged the government, according to investigations. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed eight straight audits. Hello???

The Defense Department was funded with a budget of nearly a trillion dollars, but it is running out of cash, according to three U.S. officials, a former defense official, outside experts and two congressional staff members.
