Today’s rear window: I have the same type of heat my grandparents used in a house similarly aged & if I close my eyes I can smell the bacon crisping in the same cast iron pan now in my kitchen, Grade A amber maple syrup warming & wet snow boots turned upside down over the mud room register.

Today’s rear window: Such greenery lying about the season: As deciduous leaves are burning through their autumn colors, rye rises from the corn’s decay. A sun bleached blue sky lying about its warmth: As the morning glow melts frosty leaves of grass, the chill lingers in the shade

Today’s rear window: Since posting pizza last night I have discovered that my violent wheelie accident was caused by 2 porch slats which had sunk an inch, causing my angle to traverse the door saddle to increase w/o me realizing it until I was turtled on the porch, laughing I’m sure. I’m okay

I popped the most Sick wheelie on my manual scooter last night going into the house. Everything violently flew out of the basket, including my phone which ended up submerged & let’s say the past 24 hours deserve this pie Listening to Ten

Today’s rear window: There is an elementary school just beyond the tree line at the horizon where my youngest brother has been the PE teacher for the past 20 years. In 13 days I will visit his “classroom” where I will walk around the perimeter of his gym in order to cast my vote.

Today’s rear window: When the smell of burnt rubbish mingling with a freshly smoked Winston on a red & black flannel hunting jacket wakes me at 4am, I’ll be plucking nightcrawlers before they can ooze-slip back under the frosty moss to bait hooks in my northern dreams.

Today’s rear window: Now that the furnace has had the opportunity to burn the dust from autumn’s eaves, we can get on with cardigan bright days & mastiff cuddled nights. Sugar skulls, shea butter arms & a potpourri of ancient tamarind tossed with cardamom pods, cinnamon & one ripe rose petal

I’m pretending it’s chilaquiles adjacent! I always think buckwheat tastes like coffee brewed at the inside edge of a fresh morning campfire in the Shenandoah mountains in early spring … Anyway, listening to An Evening with the Allman Brothers

Today’s rear window: I had been awake for an hour, laying in the dark listening to that one albino cricket who rubs it half an octave higher, when the furnace flip-kicked on for the first time this season. 6:08am local time. The grass had accumulated a light frost & I guess summer left, again.

Idk how tf imma eat this burger. YAAASSSS, there’s a burger under there. In high school I worked as a barback at the local tavern up the street & they served their burgers on English muffins & there was always a side of au jus… Listening to the Damnwells’ Air Stereo

Today’s rear window: If the fields appear a little greener today, your eyes do not deceive you. There’s rye giving cover to the soil & adding nutrients. I don’t remember if they harvest it before winter or if it just gets tilled under before the start of next season

Every now & again you gotta take your hoe to the gaarden idk if it’s equivalent to a grilled cheese & tomato soup, but that pressed panini is stuffed with Asiago & mozzarella + pepperoni Listening to Gomez’s A New Tide
