Yesterday I added “Against AI” to the Special Skills section of my resume.

The way I've done hours & hours of wasted work bc the person who primarily does this job (but is on a different show at the moment) does a terrible job of storing paperwork & is also rather gatekeep-y, so I created all new paperwork, only for the boss to send me what I needed on Tuesday on Sunday.

With a millionaires tax on the ballot, they really should have waited until after Election Day to announce the construction of 72 luxury waterfront condos exclusively housing the expensive cars of rich people.

Today’s office. I feel like the luckiest girl getting to make theatre magic as my career.

Tonight at the show I had a cup of water ready for an actor when they came offstage mid-scene. They were shocked and said “how did you know I wanted that?” “Because you wanted some yesterday at this spot.” I blew their mind and was proud of my Stage Manager Super Powers.

Three hour shows with minimal backstage things are loooong. Having a great time on this show, but I won’t be sad when we close.

I’m forever thankful that 20 y/o me managed to save our life and that I got to become 39 y/o me. Life is not what I thought and beyond what I could have dreamed.

Finally updated my iOS from 17 to the current. It feels like the UX designers discovered 2003 MySpace? The visualisation of the volume buttons, swoopy movements, font change, and liquid glass all have strong Comic Sans vibes (and not in the “actually a helpful accessibility font” kind of way).

I wish my brain didn’t replay every way I wronged the Boy I Loved In High School every time I think of him (which is unfortunately every day at work this week because of the nerd/gamer con he used to be a part of that is in the theatre building this week).

Finally listening to Sara Bareilles’ new album. Warned my partner in advance that I would be crying through the entire thing. I absolutely sobbed through the entire album. Every single song is perfect. I cannot believe I have 6th row tickets to see the last night of her tour.

Reading the reviews was much more enjoyable than the book.

Seven+ months later, I’m on a full show here. I continue to be this person’s new favorite person due to having previously used HandBrake & smc fan control and remembering what we needed to do with the QLab computer at the end of each rehearsal, lololol

Today is the first day all month where I haven’t had anything I need to do (before late afternoon) and I’m truly just so thankful and thrilled by life these days. Currently stoned, drinking breakfast dranks, and listening to sweet/soft/dreamy playlists I made over a decade ago.

The weekend between prep week and first rehearsal is 60 hours away from work?! What is this LORT level theatre sorcery?!

Boss at current gig specifically told us to not answer emails or texts (unless it’s an emergency) outside of work hours. And rehearsals are daytime. Which means I get home from work before 7 and am actually off for over 12 hours?! 🤯😍🎉

Omg I’ve never been got by chiggers before and ffffffff I’m so itchy.

Did not get the job originally offered, but did get one that lasts longer & at a higher (union) rate. 🎉🎉🎉

I’ve been in Missouri for nearly 24 hours. So far I’ve seen zero Drumpf flags (or related), all the Jesus signs, and zero bathrooms that have soap & paper towel dispensers at ADA approved heights.

And that "pay" is effectively company scrip, since it's not like they can spend it outside the prison until their sentences are up.
