In Washington today, Pres. Donald J. Trump complained to a nearly empty room that the National Anthem was too old and tired and possibly woke. Later, in keeping with tradition, he posted an Executive Order to his social media account replacing the current anthem with "YMCA" by the Village people.

Canada and Denmark/Greenland share not only a 2,000 mile maritime border but also a short land border through the middle of Han Island. Our lust for Greenland could be a strategic move to annex Canada by eliminating its only border with the EU and thereby surrounding it with U.S. territories.

Virginia is home to an exceptional workforce — and our workers deserve a Governor who will grow and invest in our talent here at home. My Growing Virginia Plan will address workforce shortages, expand training programs, and create more good-paying jobs right here in the Commonwealth.

𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲: As the physician Hippocrates once wrote, "The greater the evil — the more vigorous the remedy." I don't like the Democratic Party, but they're our only hope to counter the mean, ugly, blind, dangerous thing our Federal government has become. Desperate times call for desperate measures. 4/5

𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰: If this partisan redistricting plan wins, and Republicans sue, and the case winds up in SCOTUS, then any decision will affect all partisan redistricting laws everywhere (Texas?). If Republicans win, they lose red; if they lose, they lose blue. There's no winning move for them. 5/5

Like most Californians, I value our California Citizens Redistricting Commission as a beacon of honesty & fairness in a bleak political landscape. So it's with heavy heart that I'm voting for Gov. Newsom's proposal to sideline that Commission for the next four years I do so for three reasons: 2/5

𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵: I have to trust the will of the people of California. We did the right thing creating this Commission and, if we need to suspend it for a time, then I believe we will do the right thing again when the crisis has passed. I realize that's a big leap of faith; but what are you going to do? 3/5

Washington. DC - Today, Health and Human Services department head, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., announced that fentanyl can be used to cure Covid 19. In an unrelated story, last week, Border Patrol agents discovered a black duffel bag containing $500M with the words "For Inaguration" printed on its side.

"A note from the editors:... This [story] was a mistake not just by the reporter but by the Standard’s editorial team..." Yet the SFStandard still seems oddly detached from the real story: Who cleared this "mistake"? What were they thinking? What made them change their mind? Why is it still up?

Some early adopters use the term "skeet." I find the term derivative and lacking imagination (sky + tweet) and frankly somewhat triggering. To me, it evokes an old relationship that ended badly. I prefer "post" or "posted" and will continue to do so until someone comes up with something better.

You are up to date.
