I own a 2004 VN1600 Classic and can tell you those pipes get damn hot. On a run-down to Devon my right trouser leg burnt through on the rear pipe. My mate came alongside and pointed out my right leg was smoking, if I hadn't been wearing Kevlar it could have been a lot worse.

It's a pity that here in the UK a lot of cyclists avoid bike lanes. The routing is chaotic, one near me takes you onto a busy single lane carriageway, whereupon you then have to cross this busy carriageway to rejoin the bike lane, who the hell thought this was a great idea
