.. returned to Aus, my son needed 3 inserted pins removed from his shoulder. These pins were screwed in and he would need sedation and an orthopaedic surgeon to remove them. We went the the Royal Children’s Hosp, a free public hospital. We went through emergency where he was seen straight away…

X-rays were done, an ortho consulted. Surgery booked for 2 days later. Post surgery, 5 apps with orthos, 5 lots of X-rays and a bonus flu shot and the cost - nothing!! She shut up pretty quickly. The US healthcare system is fucked up & blaming travellers for your woes is just dumb.
