Me singing. "Every little nugget of nonsense Nestles down into my brain. Maybe I’m sadly mistaken Or else totally insane, But there’s a legion on the horizon. A crooked cross unfurls. A nameless curse calls forth the worst Of all possible worlds." - Disunion from Hush Now

"Doomsayer Fairy Tale (Heavy Groove Story Time)" from Hush Now. The video material is by Lotte Reiniger (1899-1981), German animator renowned for intricate silhouette films, transforming fairy tales and folklore into cool shadow-puppet cinematic art. #metalsky

Thanks to @mikethrash.bsky.social for praising new Buzzard in the latest Fired Up for Fridays. I'm glad the record can comfort folks that it's the world, not themselves, that has gone insane. Mike is a font of musical knowledge and passion. Check out all his work: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cPx...

Fun to play the my 9 albums game. Tried not to overthink it: Sabbath, Dylan, Opeth, Robyn Hitchcock, Cattle Decap, Rush, Voivod, Cash, Zeal & Ardor. #my9albums

Hush Now track #2 "Shutting Down" depicts where I grew up: Binghamton in upstate New York: * Guitar Center by mall * Slick megachurch by shuttered storefronts * MAGA trucks at liquor stores * Conspicuous decline where the opening of a new Chick-fil-A is considered a major cultural event

@buzzarddoomfolk.bsky.social's new LP Hush Now gets an excellent in-depth review from Riff Vault! "Recommended, and particularly if you want a doom record where the lyrics are not optional" riff-vault.com/reviews/buzz...

Local paper Greenfield Recorder covered Buzzard, thanks to local music writer Sheryl Hunter who used to follow Lisa and I in our folk days as Austin & Elliott. Not a lot of heavy music appears in their pages, so it's interesting to see their perspective. recorder.com/2026/10/14/l...

Excellent review of Hush Now from Riff Vault. It's cool to see how the acoustic track "Take Comfort" as the penultimate song resonated with this listener. "Recommended, and particularly if you want a doom record where the lyrics are not optional." riff-vault.com/reviews/buzz...

Just pressed publish on Bandcamp. Always an exciting & terrifying moment. Here's the thing: once a track is released, I rarely listen again. My time with it is done. We--the songs & I--got some shit off our chests. Goodbye, Hush Now. On to the next albums. buzzarddoomfolk.bandcamp.com/album/hush-now

Done! Witnessing the evolution of @buzzarddoomfolk.bsky.social's sound so far has been quite an experience. What has stayed the same, however, is the righteous anger at *everything* going on in the world. Fantastic sound, great lyrics. The perfect music for the worst time! Highest recommendation!

So basically, James Hetfield criticized artists who make political statements on stage by... going on stage and making a statement about politics.

This new song is a sibling of “Doom Folk Fury” from the last record. The opening lines of both songs emerged in the aftermath of the 2024 election. "Tonight I see the cruelty of people on display. I take comfort from the fact the Sun will explode someday." open.spotify.com/album/5Lhloi...
